Welcome to UD Forums

Also I will say this because I think Escapay has just broke a fuse in his brain by seeing this thread created - :P in other words... Escapay is a member who hates slipcovers...in fact he calls them Tree-killing DVD Condoms :P

And for future reference try using the search button to find a thread...

Also If I think your topic might be merged by a mod into an already existant topic that talks about the likes and dislikes of SlipCovers...

An excellent idea, but it will have to wait until tomorrow. A merging task like that will be time consuming, and I don't have the time to do it tonight.

For now, I will be leaving this thread alone.

Will it still be christened "The Frickin' Slipcover Discussion Thread" or is "Frickin'" too harsh?

Not sure if I've posted on this topic yet. Anyway I don't care if a DVD has one or not. If I go to the store and find one with a slipcover I will usually buy it, but I want skip a DVD just because it doesn't have a slipcover. I just buy the movie for the content on the disc.

I'm not sure if I've posted on this topic yet or not either. This is too weird, because I was just thinking today, "Man, those slipcovers are ridiculous"! I mean, what is the purpose? They don't do anything except use our natural resources for a piece of trash! I would much rather those pulp contents be used to make a notebook for some researcher to come up with the cure for cancer.

Is there any market research out there that says the slipcover sells DVDs? I would seriously find it hard to believe. Also, I can't imagine the soccer mom appreciating more trash for her kids get into. Those slipcovers don't last a day in the average home.

I certainly don't think that the collector appreciates the slipcovers either. Again, more trash that easily depreciates with any kind of natural wear from taking off the cover and putting it back on....just to watch the 5 minute making of commercial....the only special feature on the DVDs nowadays :(

argh! I feel like crap now....thanks slipcovers :(

I've finished the merging process, and these are the results:
The Frickin' Slipcover Discussion Thread Archive - Too keep the main slipcover thread under control, I have archived some of the posts to this thread.
The Buying, Selling, and Trading Slipcover Thread - This one is self explanatory.
The DMC Slipcover Question Thread - This one will be specifically for Disney Movie Club slipcover questions.
The International Slipcover Discussion Thread - This one is for the international slipcover discussion.

Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you theres no one else above you
Fill my heart with gladness
Take away all my sadness
Ease my troubles thats what you do

For the daily poster in all its glory
Greets the day with hope and comfort too
You merge on UD with laughter
And somehow you make it better
Ease my troubles thats what you do

Merging is a gift so divine
And you do it so well and fine like the sun
And at the end of the day
We should give thanks and pray

I know a lot of you don't care about slipcovers, but my National Treasure & National Treasure 2 Blu-ray discs arrived from Amazon.com last week with NO slipcovers to be seen. Are there slipcovers available for these two Blu-ray discs, or did they skip them on this release?

Thanks so much!

Perhaps Jake Lipson's Thread thread should be updated to include Blu-Ray with slipcovers.

Damned if I know. I don't pay attention to the Blu-Ray shelves when I'm at the store. But I do remember discussion on UD about the POTC Blu-Rays having slipcovers.

Yep, I did remember the discussion. I searched and found it...

When the Sleeping Beauty Blu-Ray disc cover was released, a picture of what the slipcase would look like was also given (it had a blue border around it, making it different to the cover). That cover had a blue theme instead of the DVD's purple color scheme.

But since then, the blu-ray website featured the package with the same purple cover on the DVD, so I have no idea what happened to the blu-ray with the blue slipcase went.

edit: Heres that image:
http://disneyshopping.go.com/webapp/wcs ... E&att=BVHE
I'm assuming the cover they put on the blu-ray site isn't the actual one.
