No, this is definitely the best trailer ever. Okay, well, best in the last 12 months, followed closely by trailer for The Dark Knight. Best of all time is The Departed, which had the perfect amount of footage to let us know what it's about and still kept enough out to tease us into wanting to see more. It didn't give away too much information.... Except for the one memorable friggin' shot that gives away the damn ending!! :x

Anyway - Back on topic. This was already my most anticipated film for all of 2008, and now that the trailers got me salivating, I am pretty much already in line for the tickets. I can't help but remember the massive buzz in 1998 before The Phantom Menace came out. Man, I remember waiting in line with my parents four weeks before the movie came out to buy advanced tickets (this was obviously pre-Fandango). I just hope TKOTC won't be a letdown like TPM.

Cheers,

Going sometime tomorrow afternoon. We are having midnight shows at all of our theaters, but I can't make it tonight.

I'm waiting in hopes that my dad will take me late Friday night at the drive in a couple hours away. (It just seems like a great drive in flick. :) )

I might see it when it becomes a discount Tuesday movie (where selected movies are $3.50 instead of $6.00). I have already watched Raiders of the Lost Ark. I still need to see The Temple of Doom (If I can find it at a store) and The Last Crusade.

I'm totes seeing it tonight. My boyfriend and my roommate and I are going to the Boston Common Lowes Theatre, as we are wont to do for all midnight movie premieres. Seriously, it's been December since I've gone to the movies at midnight, and I'm jonesing (pardon the pun HAR HAR HAR) to do it again. Thankfully, I'll also have "The Dark Knight" to do this with, as the excitement of a midnight showing always makes for a great experience.

I really liked it, inter-dimensional beings be damned. The refrigerator scene was a bit over the top, ditto for the, uh, setting of the ending, but I really had fun.

For people that got a chance to see it tonight how does it compare to the original 3? Crusade has always been my favorite because of the Connery/Ford stuff, while Raiders is a very close 2nd. I've never really cared for Doom much, although after watching it again this weekend its not as bad as I used to think it was.

Anyway I've read a lot of spoilers (parts of the graphic novel were posted online a few weeks ago), and from that I'm worried. I'm really worried it just want work on screen.

Still with the bad reviews coming in (from a Indy fan board), and what I know I'm still excited to see this. I hope I get a chance to see it tomorrow. Crazy schedule...

I rate it slightly below "The Last Crusade", which is not to say it's bad. It's more influenced by that movie, as the humor is a more major element than say, "Raiders of the Lost Ark", which was funny, but not as much as "The Last Crusade".

If it's any reassurance, when I read some of the plot online, I was like "Yeah, that's a mess", but it's handled very well. Just go in expecting to have an entertaining romp and don't start comparing it to the past movies until you've soaked it all in.

Thanks I'll try my best not to compare to the others and just enjoy.

I agree thats what I'm thinking right now. It just looks like a mess reading it, and I'm glad to know it was handled well on screen.

Bad news for me. I can't go to the drive in this weekend and can't go to a normal place tonight. I'll know everything by the time I see it. :( I already know a big part of the end.

The best roller-coaster movie I have seen in at least fifteen years. "Crystal Skull" is amazing, and Harrison Ford IS Indiana Jones and will always be. I was surprised to see how well Shia LaBeouf fit in, and he and Ford played off each other very well. Cate Blanchett as the baddy was super, and all I can without spoiling any of it, is hold on to your hat, and don't go into the theater with any preconceived notions about the movies. Don't believe the reviews, those are only one person's opinion, make your own. This movie will be the Superstar of the summer box office, and I don't think there is anything that will surpass it between now and August.

:D

Man its nice to read good reviews about this film. The Indy board I visited last night seemed to just rip the movie apart. I'm spoiled on the film, but the ending is what worries me the most. I'll see for myself whenever I manage to see it. I was planning to go this afternoon, but didn't get a chance to. Hopefully I'll get by and see it in a few days.

I did not see the midnight showing last night, but I did see it this evening. Overall, I'd say the film was great, right up to par with the other three. Blanchette and LeBeouf were great in this film, and of course Harrison Ford has still got it.

Managed to get into see it tonight after all.

Overall it is was my least favorite of the 4 films.

The Last Crusade ended the series so perfectly. Why can't George Lucas and to a lesser extent, Steven Spielberg, ever leave well enough alone?

Just got back from seeing it and I really loved it. I especially loved the very ending, which I won't describe here for obvious reasons. There were a few goofy parts (as many others have mentioned online) but really all of the Indy sequels had some silly moments. So, I just laughed and enjoyed the ride. I may be old fashioned when it comes to stuff like that but that is why people *used* to go to the movies, just to kick back and have a good time.

Welcome back Dr. Jones!

Wow, I bet there were a lot of angry IJ fans in my city Thursday night... I saw the movie out of town so I wasn't affected, but my best friend told me that the mall that houses North Bay's one and only theater had a major power outage last night and all showings were canceled.

If this happens again on July 18th, heads will roll. I swear to Flying Spaghetti Monster they will.
