Disney's Fall TV Schedule

Post by disneyfella »

I'm not sure if this belongs in off-topic, but I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about the fall line-up for TV and what shows have been picked up for next season, and what shows are heading into oblivion.

I was thinking more ABC, ABC Family, and Disney Channel.

I have been looking for a Hallmark Movie Channel lineup, though (even though I just found out that ComCast does NOT offer the Hallmark Movie Channel 0_o).

So I guess, any or all of the above. Mainly, though, what shows on ABC got renewed?

Yeah. Too bad they don't show anything "Disney" though...

Wait for the May upfronts, when the networks present their new fall schedules. But some shows already have early renewals/pick-ups. Don't know any off the top of my head, but you could probably check tv.zap2it.com or thefutoncritic.com for articles.

Apparently Disney announced in February that "Brothers & Sisters" was picked up for a third season.

Also, we know that LOST is coming back. I'm assuming Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, and Ugly Betty are all coming back too.

How about the new shows like "Samantha Who", "Pushing Daisies", or "Eli Stone".

ABC announced the cancellation of some 13 shows! So far here is what I can piece together as returning shows for next seasons...and cancelled shows on ABC:

Returning Shows:
Brothers and Sisters **produced by Disney**
Desperate Housewives **produced by Disney**
Ugly Betty **produced by Disney**
Pushing Daisies
LOST **produced by Disney**
Grey's Anatomy **produced by Disney
Dirty, Sexy, Money **produced by Disney**
Private Practice **produced by ABC Studios**
Scrubs **produced by Disney**

Cancelled Shows:
Men in Trees (ran for 2 seasons)
October Road (ran for 2 seasons) **produced by Disney**
Notes from the Underbelly (ran for 2 seasons)
Just for Laughs (ran for 2 seasons)
Women's Murder Club (ran for 1 season)
Oprah's Big Give (ran for 1 season)
Cavemen (aired just 8 episodes) **produced by ABC Studios**
Big Shots (ran for 1 season)
Miss Guided (aired just 7 episodes)
Carpoolers (ran for 1 season) **co-produced by Disney**
Cashmere Mafia (aired just 7 episodes)
Here Come the Newlyweds (aired just 6 episodes)

Anythoughts on cancelled shows? Or returning favorites? Any news on upcoming new shows? Are any of the cancelled shows scheduled for a DVD release? I often find myself finding shows I never saw on television and buying them on DVD to watch the whole series.....and end up liking some of the shows. I really hope they release them on DVD (a la "What About Brian").

Thanks, I updated the listing ;)

I'm most excited to see the return of:

LOST
Brothers and Sisters
Pushing Daisies
Dirty, Sexy, Money

I'm kind of sad to see these shows go:

Men in Trees (I never watched it, but I heard it was pretty good...I hope it comes out on DVD)
Cashmere Mafia (again, never watched it but it looked entertaining....I also hope this one gets a DVD release)
Women's Murder Club (again...I never watched it, but I liked the actresses in it, and it looked maybe kind of good)
Miss Guided (I did watch this and it wasn't anything worth keeping for more than one season, but it was fun to watch while it lasted....I hope this comes out on DVD with the unaired episodes(s) ).

"Scrubs" is going to be on ABC on the fall. Returning, obviously, but new to the network. Hope it gets treated better than it did on NBC, since Disney owns the series.

I'm excited for Lost and Brothers and Sisters.

Though I wish we didn't have an 8 month wait for Lost. I'd take hundreds of episodes of filler crap and many small hiatuses over waiting 8 months for a 17 episode season.

I just seems like with the long off season and the writer's strike (not to mention the Grey's Anatomy Season Finale) all we did was wait for new episodes of Lost this year; and now we go back to waiting again.

*sigh*

I just updated the list :)

That's really cool that ABC is picking it up. I really like that show, and had no idea that it was 'coming home' to ABC. lol. I wonder what the weekly program lineup is going to be.....

Midseason returns are:

Midseason debuts are:

I'm surprised "According to Jim" is still on. It never was a good sitcom and is the last surviving sitcom from the "chunky man with attractive wife" trilogy that strangely all occurred at the same time ("According to Jim", "The King of Queens", "Still Standing").

Most of the cancelled shows, I've never seen a minute of them anyway. I'm so happy about the return of Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy. Those two are my favorites.

9 episodes. They had a full season pick-up for 22 episodes, but then the writer's strike started and after that they couldn't get prouction to start fast enough, so they decided on starting to shoot the fall episodes a little earlier instead.
