27 Dresses Very cute, but a realy chick-flick
Little Miss Sunshine Finally got round to watch this one and liked it. Really good indie-movie, but I thought it was a bit heavy on the drama-side considering it was advertised as a comedy, but still there are many laughs.

Just My Luck started on one of those HBO channels, and I'm watching it again, even though I already saw it earlier today...

Ah, Scaps ... you remind me of one of Netty's old avatars. I can clearly remember the 'Just My luck' poster beneath his username. I know this is sorta off-topic but I can also recall Netty's avatar when I first joined here. It was a modified pic of Steamboat Willie with a man's head substituted for that of Mickey Mouse. And the the rodent was sort of fat. And Netty's location thingy read "Home of the Steamboat Fatty" or something along those lines. Then he changed it to a short-lived Scooby Doo avatar.

Talk about random... :|

Treasure Planet

I dunno what the hell happened this time, but I actually liked it. I can't explain why, but my mind changed regarding TP.

3.6/5

Little Miss Sunshine

Amazingly good. The cast was perfect. Oh, it was just so good.

4.8/5

Across the Universe

I loved it. Except for maybe the weird carnival thing and Bono's role. That 10 minutes of the movies rubbed me the wrong way, everything else was great.

4.3/5

P.S. I Love You

Pretty good for a chick flick.

3.6/5

Yeah, but now we're wanting Jackie back in Doctor Who. BRING BACK JACKIE! We need more of here wit and wisdom! (Whisper it, but I think my campaign may just have worked...)

Oh I'd better mention a movie I "just watched". Well, I can't because I haven't. But I did rewatch the TV Play "Joe's Palace" again, and once again I cried like a baby at Michael Gambon's big emotional reveal/release. Gambon is such a wonderful actor, because his revelation isn't really that huge, but it always moves me to tears. Its the feeling of disappointment that does it. It and he just sums up so much emotion in that one scene. I never want to hear anyone complain about him playing Dumbledore again. Do you hear?

Just watched Hercules. I love that movie, it's my favorite Disney.

Right now I'm watching Chances Are on WE. It's a really cute movie until the end. I don't want to spoil it for anyone but it gets kind of creepy and lame, so I'm probably going to change the channel before it's over.

You forgot to say that it's gorgeous to look at. I guess that must at least partially be the result of the Gerald Scarfe influence. I also remember Netty saying that in his opinion Hercules is modern Disney's greatest achievement in terms of visuals and styling.

Anyway, this morning I watched The Three Caballeros on my Region 2 disc. I enjoyed it much more than the first time (about a year ago) I saw it, especially the second half. In fact, I had a rollicking good time!

Whilst watching I couldn't help appreciating the beautiful, silky-smooth animation and effects. The film undeniably also has a great soundtrack. Having watched Bambi recently I couldn't help but notice that Caballeros' aural DVD presentation - while adequate - is far from the warm, restored track on Bambi's Platinum disc. There are moments of discernable pops and clicks and general static, and the film just sounds a little tinny overall. Don't get me wrong ... it's fine for a film its age, but when knowing how much it can be improved if restored, it makes one wistful. Caballeros would rock if it were given a proper sound restoration. The video quality is good enough, despite at times bearing many scratches and grain. In Caballeros' case, I feel the audio is the priority. And the same goes for Saludos Amigos, which looks great in the video department, not so great in the audio one though.

The Bono part and the Circus part are probably my two least favorite parts of the film, but at the same time, two of the most creative (though for me, nothing in the movie tops "Strawberry Fields Forever")

bring back jackie

Anyway, recently I've watched SoapDish and Aliens. Two movies that don't really complement each other, but still. I've always loved SoapDish, but never got around to getting it on DVD.

Raiders of the Lost Ark-I have never watched this movie in its entirety. I thought it was good and some of the special effects were interesting.

B or 7/10

Iron Man - I saw this in theatres today as it was a discount movie. I thought it was a pretty good comic book/action movie for the most part. Though it did drag on a little bit in a few scenes.

Hello, Dolly!
First time I've ever seen this one and I really liked it. Barbra Streisand is fabulous as Dolly Levi and Mattaugh is a comedy genius, but the ending is kinda weird. Suddenly Vandergelder decides to marry her after all and nobody really knows why, but still it is nice in the end and their dance is as romantic as it can get considering that Walter Mattaugh couldn't stand the Streisand at all. Good feel-good musical.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Saw it a few days ago. It's okay but not as good as Raiders.

Still need to see Last Crusade and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (despite all the bashing).

It's Matthau Dottie. And yes that end kiss is going in my top ten, "I can't believe they actually kissed" movie list.

So far this weekend I watched:

The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)

Sixteen Candles (1984)

and

Footloose (1984), which is NOT a musical, as there are no songs sung on camera, let alone telling a story or advancing the plot. Though the background music songs are good like the rest of the movie was, surprisingly.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade I rate it above Temple of Doom, but still not as good as Raiders of the Lost Ark

Whoops. I knew there was a mistake somewhere in that name, because I always get it wrong, but I was too lazy for checking :D Thanks.
But I don't think they actually kissed, because they turn around in that weird way, so that you can't see their faces only their heads together and it made me wonder if it wasn't only one of those pretend kisses.
