1. The Lion King (1994)
2. Toy Story
3. Pocahontas (1995)
4. The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996)
5. Hercules (1997)
6. Mulan (1998)
7. A Bug's Life (1998)

Those are the only Disney films I've seen in theaters. I wanted to see TLM in its re-run, but my mother wouldn't take me (I think I was around 9-11 at the time).

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"
I saw all of these "Disney Animated Classics" and Pixar films in theatres on their original theatrical run, in order.
The Many Adventures Of Winnie the Pooh
The Rescuers
The Fox and the Hound
The Black Cauldron
The Great Mouse Detective
Oliver and Company
The Little Mermaid
The Rescuers Down Under
Beauty and the Beast
Aladdin
The Lion King
Pocahontas
Toy Story
The Hunchback Of Notre Dame * (see below)
Hercules
Mulan
A Bug's Life
Tarzan
Toy Story 2
Fantasia 2000
The Emperor's New Groove
Atlantis
Monsters Inc
Lilo and Stitch
Treasure Planet
Finding Nemo
Brother Bear
Home on the Range
The Incredibles
Chicken Little
Cars
Meet the Robinsons
Ratatoille
* My first screening of HUNCHBACK was the world premiere, at the Louisiana Superdome in my hometown of New Orleans. The live preshow entertainment featuring songs from the "new golden age" animated classics sung by the original talent was AMAZING and was captured on a Disney Channel special which would make a PERFECT extra on a 2-disc Hunchback release.
I've also seen Pete's Dragon, Dinosaur, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit in theatres on their initial run. They aren't DACs or Pixar and Roger is a Touchstone film, but since they do feature animation I've listed them here.
I've also seen most of the animated classics that were released prior to 1977 on one of their 70's, 80's, or 90's theatrical re-releases, as well as TONS of Disney live action films either on the first release or a re-release.

Re: What Disney (or Pixar) History Have YOU Been A Part Of?
I've got a pathetically short list...TonyWDA wrote:What theatrical Disney Animated film have YOU guys been a part of? I mean, which film did you see in it's original run.
Disney Animated Classics
Aladdin (1992) - saw it five times in a theatre, and it still holds that honor today as I rarely see a film in theatres more than once.
The Lion King (1994) - saw it once with my family.
Mulan (1998) - saw it during a vacation in California.
Disney Live-Action
The Kid (2000) - saw it with siblings, cousins, and aunt. Waste of a movie, but still had a great time at the theatre.
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) - saw it with siblings, cousins, and aunt.
Freaky Friday (2003) - saw it with siblings, cousins, and aunt.
The Pacifier (2005) - saw it with a co-castmember in Florida.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006) - saw it with co-castmembers in Florida.
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007) - saw it with co-castmembers in Florida.
Enchanted (2007) - saw it with the siblings
National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007) - saw it with the siblings
Pixar
Toy Story (1995) - saw it with the siblings
The Incredibles (2004) - saw it with the siblings
Cars (2006) - saw it with a co-castmember in Florida.

I haven't seen that many in theaters...
I don't think I saw The Lion King, I'm pretty sure Toy Story was the first movie ever I saw in theaters (I was born in 1991). Toy Story 2 I saw as well, and that's about it for animated movies...
I saw National Treasure (both) and Pirates of the Caribbean (all 3)... and I think that's all for live action.
Oh, I saw Tuck Everlasting as part of a field trip with my school

Well, I was quite young when I saw Pooh so my memory is vague other than really liking it and enjoying all the songs and being really sad over the ending, and touched by it.TonyWDA wrote:

(Of course, like all the DACs, I know the movie very well now thanks to viewing it multiple times since then, but I meant my memory of that first viewing is vague)
Great Mouse Detective was a surprise to me that it was out because I remember the controversy over Black Cauldron not doing as well as the company hoped, and with the management change there were rumours about the animation unit shutting down. There wasn't the internet to follow all these things as closely back then, though - so when Mouse Detective came out so soon after Cauldron I didn't even know Disney had another film in the works!
I remember being glad that animation was continuing and I really enjoyed the movie.
After reading about that time period after the fact, I know that we have Roy E. Disney to thank for standing up for, and saving Disney animation during a crucial time in its history.

Aladdin - First movie I ever watched on the cinema, I was 2 and I could only remember the Jafar Transformation scene since it was the loudest.
The Lion King - watched it with my family in London, but I don't remember anything !
The Hunchback of Notre Dame- I remember listening to the soundtrack before even watching the movie and when I did watch it with my sister and my uncle I couldn't help but sing along with the movie so my sister had to put her hand on my mouth whenever the music scenes started so I wouldn't make a racket ! LOL
Mulan : watched it during a field trip to the movies during 4th grade.
Tarzan : watched it with my uncle and I remember it was such a crowded day.
A Bug's Life : Also watched it during a field trip at 3rd or 4th grade, I guess this is why I really like the 3rd and 4th grade the most !
Toy Story 2 : Watched it by myself I think I was 9 or 10.
Atlantis : Also watched it by myself it came out the same day as Harry Potter 1.
Treasure Planet : Watched this one with my cousins, I was really into it at the time.

Let's see...
The first Disney film I saw in cinemas was "Cinderella", some late '80s re-release. I guess that doesn't qualify as the original run.
Then there was this long pause (8-9 years) when I haven't seen any movie in cinema.
Then:
- Mulan
- A Bug's Life
- Tarzan
- Inspector Gadget
- The Emperor's New Groove
- Atlantis: The Lost Empire
- Monsters, Inc.
- Peter Pan: Return to Never Land
- Treasure Planet
- The Jungle Book 2
- Finding Nemo
- Brother Bear
- Home on the Range
- The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement
- Chicken Little (I have never felt more sorry for spending money)
- The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
- Cars
- Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
- Meet the Robinsons
- Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
- Ratatouille
- Enchanted
- National Treasure: Book of Secrets
That's about it.
Though I saw "The Little Mermaid" (1997 re-release print) and "Toy Story 2" in a cinema two years ago. This local cinema used to show Family Films each weekend and these films were part of that matinee.

Believe it or not, I missed A LOT of Disney films in the theaters. See my hometown lacks a movie theater, and the nearest one was outside of town in a one hour drive. So this made it nearly impossible for me to watch movies in the theaters. But every once in a while, especially during summer, my parents would treat me to a movie, either as part of our overall family vacation or my birthday.
The first Disney I remember seeing in theaters was "The Lion King" and it was an experience I shall never forget. The theater was absolutely packed with both adults and children and every one was having a lot of fun. I remember at the end of the movie many adults came out delighted, saying how much they have enjoyed a movie that was aimed at children. The movie had that much of an impact on people.
The first Pixar film I went to see in theaters was "Toy Story". The experience was not as ground breaking as the Lion King one (in terms of audience impact of course) but was still an amazing one nonetheless.
After that, the films I went to see were either pop corn summer flicks or comedy films. The animated films I went to the theaters to see were Shrek and Shrek 2.
With movies becoming easily pirated around here, my theater experiences became even rarer, except during the summers I spent visiting my friends with New Hampshire.
I was able to see "Cars" and "Ratatouille" during their original run with my friends and both were incredible. I don't care what the fans and critics think about it, Cars was the ultimate feel good movie of the year. I remember coming out of the theater feeling happy and alive, and that feeling carried over to the rest of the evening, especially the late night dinner I had with my friends. Our enthusiasm even spread around the restaurant as one waitress asked us if the movie was worth watching, considering how happy we were.
"Ratatouille" was a much smaller experience, but the film was so deep and thought provoking the feeling it invoked was present in both me and my best friend, who went as far as to say that it was the first Pixar film to leave a deep, personal impact on him. We even discussed it during dinner as we all agreed that the film's message about good food leaving an eternal impression was very spot on.
Its too bad that due to me working during summer, and my friends working on a Wii game, we will miss "Wall-e" during its theatrical run. But I will try to relive my days of my summers with my family and try to take my folks to see it, for old times sakes.
...Phew, I rambled for a moment there! But as you can see, the best theater experiences came from animated movies, and this thread brought back a lot of memories, but old and recent ones.
