New Disney CD: Kerry Butler: Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust

Post by Kram Nebuer »

Hi guys, I know its been a while since I have posted, but in the midst of finals studying I decided to check my e-mail and lo and behold I had some exciting news to share with you.

The Laughingplace Store e-newsletter told about this new CD from Kerry Butler. From those of you who don't know, Kerry Butler was in the original Broadway cast of Hairspray as Penny Pingleton and is now the lead character in Xanadu. She also was Ariel in the demo recordings for The Little Mermaid Broadway show (Part of Your World). With her new CD "Kerry Butler: Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust", she records her own versions of classic, lesser known and unknown Disney songs much how Jim Brickman and the Disney Wishes!/Disneymania CDs have done. What I like best about Kerry Butler's CD is that she picked such a varied, unexpected, and creative assortment of songs that I'm excited to hear what she does with them.

It's interesting to hear her doing it, thank you Kram Nebuer.

I am so glad they dropped 'Call Me A Princess'; its an awful song ! It doesnt fit in with the story at all! Probably from the first version of the movie before they re-did it ?

I really agree with you, that's what I thought when I first heard the song a few months ago (Thought I found the lyircs last year).
This version is the opposite of Jasmine!,yeah,it's from the version when Aladdin had a mother,3 friends and the genie from the ring,in that version she was a spoiled princess but changed after she fell in love with Aladdin, she only got kidnapped by the villain, not importent like Jasmine.

I found a promotional video on YouTube...in case anyone else wants to check this out. I've actually never heard of her before, but I really like her voice...I'll be interested in listening to this one.

I loved Kerry in Xanadu! She was amazing, and so funny! And super sweet after the show too.

But I do not like her version of Disneyland, it does not hold a candle to Jodi's.
