OK let's get this thing going!!
This is how the competition is going to work.
First, we are going to drop from 36 songs to 12. The first step is for each song to make the Top 12.
Each of the 36 songs has been randomly divided into a group. There will be four groups total. Each group contains 9 songs. You guys will rank the songs in each group, and the TWO songs that score the highest in each group will earn a slot in the Top 12. So, once every group is ranked, we will have 8 songs in the Top 12. The other four songs to round out the Top 12 will come from a Wildcard round -- in which songs that did not make the Top 12 get another shot (including those outside the Top 36).
I hope that wasn't too confusing. It's very simple, the two songs with the highest scores from each group advance to the next round.

Haha, I thought the exact same thing. This is a very, very tough group, filled with songs that could easily win this entire competition on their own. In fact, out of the whole Top 36, there were 3 songs I had in mind that were basically guaranteed songs that would make it, and 2 of them are in this group! It was 100% random though!
But no worries -- the wildcard round will give the songs that didn't make it in this group another chance.

Did the results shock you? I was pretty surprised myself. I thought the 2 that would advance weren't even in the Top 3!!
Really though, no matter what your favorite Disney song is, there is no doubt Zip-A-Dee-Doh-Dah deserves a spot in the next round. Kiss the Girl is a great song as well but in my personal opinion there were better songs in Group 1 that deserved to make it more. But they will show up for the wildcard round!

We are almost there. We have HALF of our Top 12 filled with awesome, classic, true Disney songs.
We still have more to add to the Top 12, though.
We'll add 2 more through Group 4. This is the FINAL traditional group, and here are the songs in it:
