Toadies first Blu Ray - Spider Man 3

Regretful move my friend. Have you actually seen that movie?

Wouldn't a Disney movie be a more logical choice?

Thanks for trying to warn me. What a crap fest. The ending was not that bad but the first oh two hours were terrible. What was that whole disco Venom thing? Absolutely ridiculous. My wife and I turned it onto Portugese hoping it might be better.Almost beat Batman 4 for worst super hero movie ever.

Noooo, not even close. While Spidey 3 pales in comparison to the much better first and second entries, it's still a mostly solid film that suffered from studio editing to keep the runtime short. I'd wait for the eventual extended cut to buy it.

And, everyone knows the two worst comic book-based superhero movies are Steel and Elektra. The superhero movie ever is, well, Superhero Movie.

Spider-man 3 is horrible, but its nowhere near as bad as Batman and Robin. I remember leaving the midnight showing of Spider-man 3 being the most disappointed about a movie in ages. Some of my friends really liked it, but as a whole I think a lot of them were very disappointed in it.

Anyway I hated the ending of Spider-man 3, but I really didn't find a whole lot to like in it.

Venom should have been completely left out. Since his original appearance in Amazing Spider-man in the 90s Venom has mostly been misused, and this movie is no exception. IF Venom was done at all it should have been over two movies instead of one. There was just to much stuff to try to fit in that Spider-man 3 felt very rushed.

Peter with the symbiote was worse than Venom. So it just makes you a jerk now and you do a dance. That whole dance number just didn't fit in the movie at all.

As good as Spider-man was (I'm in the minority that liked 1 better than 2), with the disaster of 3 maybe they should just start over for 4 and go back to the classic villians. Lizard, Rhino, Electro, etc... I just hope they avoid anymore of the symbiotes, even though fans are now screaming for Carnage. If Carnage was done right Spider-man would have to be a R rated film, which isn't going to happen.

Anyway congrats on the Blu-ray. Even though Spider-man 3 as a movie is horrible the Blu-ray is top notch.

I know it's VHS like in it transfer and pan & scanned but I've heard some good reviews and I can't wait to watch it!

It is a good movie Jiminy but that transfer is just unimaginably terrible, probably the worst Disney ever did for DVD (now the region 2 DVD on the other hand..)

As for me I bought The Gnome Mobile (1967) [$16.99 at HMV] and The Adventures of Bullwhip Griffin (1967) [$24.98 at World's Biggest Book Store, allot, I know but they were the only store that had a copy] today.

Water Horse on Blu Ray - really good movie and worth it on Blu Ray with all the scenery. The scenes of the Boy riding the water horse looked a little cheesie but on the whole a pretty good movie.

Huck Finn, Blackbeard's Ghost, Candleshoe, Return to Oz, and Natty Gann are all really great (and underrated) Disney films. Excellent purchases there! (Even if the R1 editions of BG and NG are hackjob P&S DVDs, with BG being the worse off of the two...)

Flight of the Navigator is one of those "if you didn't see it during its original release, you weren't missing much" movies, but when you do see it, you instantly love it (or instantly hate it).

The Walt documentary is really good, but is (predictably) told in a "them were the good ole days, everything was nice and calm even when it really wasn't" tone. Still, it's a fine documentary (and it's nearly two hours! Surprise surprise from Disney!) with great supplements (the home movies, in particular).

The other four I haven't seen in years to properly make a judgment on them, though I do remember that I wasn't fond of In Search of the Castaways when I first saw it (maybe because I dislike Hayley Mills' style of acting as a child/adolescent.)

You'd be better off with just the first one. The second movie wasn't too good.

I was able to get the complete series (well, the three different sets of 1/2, 3/4, and 5) for $11.99 each during a sale. Ended up spending my entire weekend at Bayside!

Anyway, I've bought a few DVDs in the past several weeks but none really come to mind in the "OMG, I'm so glad I bought it!". Well, maybe The Brady Bunch Movie or Monty Python and the Holy Grail. But beyond those two...nothing really outstanding.
