And another reason is one of the biggest annoyances with fans is the fact that they do not include enough of the books into the films. Well, here they have the perfect opportunity to include EVERYTHING. Which they had better do !
And yes, it is probably due to a money - making scheme as well.
But I'm thrilled to be getting Potter 7 x 2 !

Yeah,it's also the last Harry Potter movie,it's also for the fans and for making money.
I think it will get promotion like the first film (Is it just me or with each movie there are less and less crazy Harry Potter crazy merchandise? (like Chocolate Frogs and etc.)).
Anyway I hope that it better then OOTP (It was good but weaker then the other films but it's just because the book was boring compering to the others,IMO it was a very long book with Harry yelling at everyone from self-pity and dreaming of kissing Cho Chang),so far Goblet Of Fire was my favorite.

Well, if their intention was to please fans of the book series, I think this is just too little, too late. It's obviously a last ditch effort to prolongue Warner Bros. bloodsucking. The movies are decent if you have absolutely no expectations, but they're underwhelming otherwise.
I also have to say that OotP gets bashed too heavily for being "long," and it's far more than Harry dwelling on his misery or pursuing Cho Chang (who I didn't like either, to be honest). Perhaps its because I'm looking forward to a career in teaching and OotP focuses heavily on gov't interference, but the fifth book is my favorite of the series after Deathly Hallows.
Not surprisingly, GoF was my least favorite.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

I also think that since it's the last Harry Potter film.
It's just too long, that what he mostly did there (I don't like her,I remember I used to see a forum of her haters,it was so funny
they made fun of her
),then I see why you like it that much
.
GOF was my favorite,I really loved the tasks (Espically the task with the merpeople) and the plot was the best,I think that DH was my favorite after it and HBP after it.

I've been on some Potter kick lately, so I'm in the mood for some discussion.
What things do you really want to be in Deathly Hallows?
The Harry/Hermione "ghost" kiss needs to be in! I'd be extremely happy!
Obviously, the Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny kiss.
The Ted/Victoire kiss doesn't need to be in there, but it would be nice, nonetheless.
Molly Weasley's line has to be in there, or I'll leave the theatre.
I also really think that the first part should end like this:
Xenophilious Lovegood: Are you referring to the Deathly Hallows?
*Original Hedwig music plays*
"To be continued...."
Thoughts? Comments?

First of all, I want to say this whole two movies thing is a complete nonsense and I don't support it at all. They could accomplish the same by making a 3.5 hour movie. And it's not like they've been true to the books before so many subplots from DH can be omitted since they haven't been referenced before.
Things I want to see in the film:
- Dobby!!! (I'll be seriously pissed off if he's cut out of HBP
)
- complete "Silver Doe" chapter (the one with Harry/Hermione kiss) in the film! That's my favorite chapter from the book.
- Bill and Fleur's wedding (I don't want freaking Tonks & Lupin)
- Prince's Tale
- breaking into and out of Gringotts
- the drawing on the ceiling of Luna's room
Things I'd like to see cut out of film:
- Dumbledore's family backstory - it works extremely well in the book, but since Grindewald and Aberforth haven't been mentioned before I see no reason for its inclusion. They could just say that Dumbledore searched for Deathly Hallows by himself
- Lupin & Tonks subplot

Yeah, Tonks and Lupin will be in it considering what happens and all. Can't seem them getting cut, if anything they would be shown here and there with a little dialogue.
Anyways, I have mentioned on page 1 what I wanted to see, so I'll just repeat myself here and see if anyone actually responds
Chapters 30 onward have to be intact for me, I don't know why but I want to see McGonagall bring the statues to life and rally the castle. It's almost like her moment in the spotlight for me.
I don't really think much stuff needs to be cut, if you think about it the reason the book is so big is because it's full of descriptions: What people are wearing, what the surroundings look like, mindless introspection, describing characters movements "Harry ran" (yeah it's a poor example but I'm not dragging my book out to look one up).
So a lot of stuff is already being "cut" technically, if both films are 2 and 1/2 hours long it should be able to fit a lot of stuff in there with pretty minimal cuts, for example: useless dialogue, scenes that aren't as important to the story, the epilogue etc.

Yes! I hate how Flitwick was the focused teacher (apart from Dumbledore and Umbridge) in ootp just because he was short so people would have a laugh out of him!Chernabog_Rocks wrote:Chapters 30 onward have to be intact for me, I don't know why but I want to see McGonagall bring the statues to life and rally the castle. I also want to see McGonagall in action.

Guys according to an interview with David Heyman posted on Leaky, Dobby WILL be in Deathly Hallows! Apparently they are going to "make a big deal out of him" in part one (added scenes no doubt between him and Aberforth) so that when you-know-what happens in part two the emotional impact will be there.
Personally, for me anyways, the impact will be there regardless, but at this point I don't care about added scenes. Just knowing Dobby won't be replaced by Kreacher as so many suspected makes me very happy. He deserves his moment to shine.

I, too, am really glad they didn't replace Dobby with Kreacher, though I'm sure that would've been case had they decided to do DH as one film. For continuity's sake, I hope they use the same actor who played Aberforth as a cameo in Order of the Phoenix. Without the introduction of the mirror in OotP, I'm wondering how they will go about with the connection between Aberforth/Dobby and Harry. My guess is Harry will just find the piece of glass in his luggage mysteriously, and later Aberforth will reveal that Dumbledore planted it there before the HBP climax.
Another thing that just came to my mind is what they'll do about Griphook. Technically, in SS, Verne Troyer was Griphook ("Lamp, please. Key, please"). But since he's only named in the credits, I'm hoping that for DH, they cast Warwick Davis and just say that the bank teller from SS was Griphook ("And does Mr. Harry Potter have his key?"). He was featured on the poster, for crying out loud, so they could get away with this. I hope that's the route they take.

Problem is, Warwick Davis is already Professor Flitwick and I wouldn't be so sure that he is wiling to take both roles.
However, I love that they kept Dobby in DH and try to (hopefully) be more faithful to the books. I like the movies since they're enjoyable as movies, but adaptation-wise they are a bit lacking.

Well, he played both the goblin bank teller and Flitwick in SS, so I don't think he'd be opposed to playing both again in DH, especially since we'll only see Flitwick during the battle.Dottie wrote:Problem is, Warwick Davis is already Professor Flitwick and I wouldn't be so sure that he is wiling to take both roles.

Maybe the mods can retitle this as "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Movie Thread."
Anyway, a lot of casting updates have surfaced regarding the seventh and final film(s).

On Friday, Chris Rankin's agent confirmed for SnitchSeeker that the actor will reprise his role as Percy Weasley in the final movie.
On Saturday we received the confirmation that actor Rod Hunt, who played big blond Death Eater Thorfinn Rowle in Half-Blood Prince, has been cast to reprise his role in Deathly Hallows.
Today, some new rumors regarding teenage Albus Dumbledore, Ariana Dumbledore and Bathilda Bagshot reached online. It seems that Toby Regbo will play teenage Albus, Hazel Douglas will be Bathilda Bagshot and Hebe Beardsall - Ariana Dumbledore.

On http://www.mugglenet.com, all those have been reported, plus Brandon Gleeson's son, Domhall is playing Bill Weasley. All the current cast from the other films is playing their characters, with still-needed confirmation from the triwizard champions.
Edit: Not all of them are confirmed, but many are still.
