The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
Well, the teaser for Prince Caspian debuted in front of The Golden Compass, which is a far riskier move than putting Half-Blood Prince in front of Caspian. Considering I didn't hear a big outcry from Narnia fans that they'd have to see Golden Compass in order to see their trailer on the big screen, I doubt there'll be much ado about them seeing Harry Potter's teaser in front of their film.

There is a very very small fraction of Christians that burn Harry Potter books and since JK Rowling came out and said that she was a Christian and you can see all the religious allusions to it in her books I think a lot of that calmed down.
Plus, Narnia and Potter are no more or less religious than each other. They are both full of religious allusions if you want to see them.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspain NEW TRAILER DEBUT

It doesn't look as tame as the first one. My biggest problem with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was that I don't think Jadis was as cool as she could have been - she didn't seem as threatening to me as, say, the Queen from Snow White, and she's a cartoon!
Does anyone else think it looks like they're going after the Lord of the Rings market?
Anyway, looks good!

Well yeah, but Prince Caspian seems more blatantly Lord of the Rings-ish in appearance and feel, but I guess that may just be because the Prince Caspian novel was more mature than The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe novel.Flanger-Hanger wrote:Obviously, that's the reason they made the first one to begin with.

I read Harry Potter and I didn't burn the books.
I didn't like certain things that happened (like who died in Book 5 for instance) and I couldn't finish book 6 due to reading the spoiler. Book 7 - well, my sister has finally stopped bugging me to FINISH the book.
BTW, there are people who like LOTR that probably don't realize the Christian themes in those books.

Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

It's too bad they are relseasing this one so close to Indy. They should have made this one a June or July release.
There's an article on CTV News:

that's saying there's going to be a summer blockbuster coming out each week this summer. And it starts this week with Iron Man!
Hard to believe the summer movie season is already here.

new trailer
I didn't think the latest trailer had been posted here yet.
You can see it here:

It definitely looks more exciting and action oriented but still family friendly. I'm pretty excited for this.

Prince Caspian: More Family Friendly than almost **any** movie out this summer until WALL*E's release.
Indiana Jones: Lot more action violence, maybe some strong language and will be PG-13, definitely **not** for kids. (I say min. 10+). Will likely appeal to the older fans more than an 8 year old who loved LW&TW.
Iron Man: Same as Indiana Jones, though I say closer to 12 for this one.
Speed Racer: Probably more on the older kids and teens family friendly scale.
I won't be spending money on Indiana Jones, I'll spend it on Prince Caspian and Wall*E.
And I have less than 2 weeks to prepare for the Prince Caspian Movie.- better get the book finished.

Ugh.
I saw Iron Man on Friday, and about ten minutes before the movie (well the previews really) started a couple theater employees came in in full Narniaish costumes and did a little skit, then announced that two seats in the theater had a crown underneath them that meant you won two free passes to the film. The kid in the seat next to me (the seat I was actually sitting in till my buddy dragged me out to the lobby) had one of the crowns. It was the one time I was really happy I didn't sit in that seat. Had I won the passes I probably would have actually went to the movie.
I swear it was divine intervention. XD
Anybody else experiencing anything of this nature at their local theater?
