You might think it is overrated, which is fine, but it is definitely better than some of the films that lasted longer.UmbrellaFish wrote:I was the instigator in that mostly. I just think think The Lion King is Disney's most over-rated movie.Flanger-Hanger wrote:I'm both surprised and not surprised that The Lion King made number 23 on the list. Considering the other "fab [ulously overrated] four" all got in the top 5.

Hirt or Heal: Disney Animated Classics
Do you mean The Prince, Prince Charming, Prince Phillip, and Prince Eric?PrincePhillipFan wrote:I think Phillip is the most endearing, likable, and developed personality of the first four Disney princes.
Anyway, I agree with what you said, I think Beauty and the Beast is a very good (flawed) movie, but I have a "yea, it's cool" attitude towards it.
I also think Sleeping Beauty is more popular nowadays because it is a darker film. I may elaborate more in a more appropriate thread, but consider how much darker it is than Snow White and Cinderella. It's a film that mixed every color with a little black. In fact, the audiences who saw it when it first came to theaters probably felt the opposite way, didn't like it, for the same reason, it was dark. Though that contrasts with the idea people didn't like it because they weren't in the mood for a fairy tale. But I have often heard the film was not liked because it "lacked warmth." But in today's Goth*, violent, cynical world...
*Nothing against Goths, I mean they are a demographic that is attracted to darkness and are currently popular.
ANYWAY...who thinks this Animated Classics Hurt or Heal could be an annual thing, maybe run by the administrators? And we keep track of all the previous winners, and we can see what films tend to always be in the top spots and maybe see patterns and stuff?

I don't know about it being annual, but I definitely think this version of Hurt or Heal should be revisited again in the future. Maybe once every 3-5 years or so. If we do it annually I can see people attacking the previous winner right of the bat, just to make sure it doesn't repeat it's victory.
I would like to move on to the next game (out of a combination of it being my own version, and that I don't partake in the other two because I lack enough knowledge on the subjects to vote. That and I'm addicted to these things. I play about 30 of them on IMDB a day) I wonder when the Mod's will open it up? I hope it's sometime soon.

Yeah, sorry I didn't elaborate on that. The first two princes I felt were just very bland characters (although I really like Charming's expanded personality in Cinderella III, but I'm just going by the original films). And Eric always annoyed me and felt a little too two-dimsenional in his over-obsession with finding the girl with the voice who saved him. I feel like he started to become a more interesting character during the Kiss The Girl sequence though in showing he was starting to like Ariel and not the "mystery girl."Disney Duster wrote:Do you mean The Prince, Prince Charming, Prince Phillip, and Prince Eric?
Anyway, I need to stop before I completely take this thread off topic.
I think it would be fun to try this game again in the near future, and just see how different the results might be.

mabey we could do another Hurt or Heal like "Best Disney Theme Song" with every DAC's theme song, Or "Cutest Disney Charactor" with the cutest charactors from each DAC, (like, Jumbo JR. from Dumbo and Chip from Beauty and the Beast, you see) or "Best Disney Sidekick".....
I would start one but I don't have enouph knowledge about every one of the Disney classics!
