Why is that?
I agree it would make more sense to release all the titles first (whether that's 14, 15, etc) but all the schedules we've seen so far imply that Snow White and Beauty and the Beast will be re-released before the cycle is complete with Fantasia and Pinocchio coming out in the spring slots.
In fact if you think about it, it makes more sense (from Disney's point of view) to do it this way. If they don't do this then they either go back to one release per year for 3-4 years (depending on Aladdin's status), put four of their biggest out within two years (SW/B+B in one year, TLK/Al the next) which doesn't make sense from a marketing perspective, or completley change the release schedule of the Platinum line up (which could mess up the amount of time the films are in the vault).
Like I said, I agree it makes sense to me that they finish the Platinum Collection first before re-starting, but all evidence so far goes against this.

To be honest, no one knows what Disney will decide to do ! Probably not even Disney themselves at this moment in time.
BUT
What we do know is that the Classics in the Platinum line will indeed get a BluRay release at some point, as the trailer indicated as much. Classics such as Little Mermaid, Cinderella , Beauty, Lion King etc. Whether or not they will come out again on DVD is not known.

i tough the ''Platinum" line was supose to be for the most popular disney movies... pocahontas was really good but it wasnt like a really big box office hit... i think after Pinocchio next march they should release Fantasia and finnish with the Platinum franchise and start with a new ''line'' for Snow White or whatever
But I don't see how they can create a new line; how can they top 'Platinum' ? Double Platinum? Platinum Revisited ? They should give the line a rest for a few years, then come back with the line being released on DVD and Blu Ray with more bonus features, new covers etc. The line might have chnaged by then anyway, as it was comprised of Disney's biggest selling home videos releases. New films may have sold more units etc on their various special edition DVDs and then be added.
And does anyone even know that Fantasia is on the list ?

Yes, because 'Platinum' is the top. It beats gold etc. I think all the Gold collection get their own Special Edition DVD at some point anyway. Or at least they seem to be.
I think I'm correct in thinking that 'Alice' was the only DAC to have the 'Masterpeice' tag; we didnt even have it over here.
They could come back in a few years just to give the line a rest.
These are just thoughts though.

I hope they don't replace the platinum label. I think continuing what their doing now (new platinums and platinum re-releases), along with upgrading films into special editions is just fine.
Although I do like the idea of replacing Aladdin with Alice in Wonderland. I honestly never liked Aladdin one bit! I wouldn't mind them replacing Peter Pan either. So if they want to add new titles...

Well, at the rate they're going, the Platinum Line will mean very little anyway. Honestly, there's nothing special about it when you keep adding every Disney movie. They should've kept Masterpiece for the lesser titles and Platinum for the top ten. But, no, that's too logical for Disney.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

I whole-heartedly agree.Disney's Divinity wrote:Well, at the rate they're going, the Platinum Line will mean very little anyway.
