Were we shut down again?

Post by Tangela »

Is it just my computer or did we go over the bw limit today, when I tried to enter the site, a white screen with black letters came up...

We exceeded the monthly bandwidth total, plus the additional bandwidth that I had to pay for a week ago. So, it's even more additional bandwidth now to get us through the last 4 days of this short month.

Oh dear! You mean the extra bandwidth wasn't enough? Oh boy, we really have to find a way to get rid of these problems, I think we should limit the chat room to Wednesdays and Sundays full-day only, and prohibit pictures on signatures (Especially if they are not Disney related, like Meisaku).

There's got to be a good way. *Looks at his great The Rescuers avatar*, oh no! Anything but that! This is the greatest Avatar I've ever had, DON'T TAKE IT AWAY FROM ME!

Anyway, we really have to be careful about what we do, and think before we post anything, make sure what we're going to say is really something important.

Well, thankfully, a few members have made contributions to the site and those can help cover bandwidth excesses for a short while, anyway.

Yes, bandwidth is an issue, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't fully enjoy the site. It's really more of a common sense issue, but then some people on the Internet could probably use a bit more of that.

Well, I try to click on those Google Adds when I remember to, I wish I could donate $5 or something, but I'm not old enough...

Well, that helps too and thanks for the thought.

By the way, I like the new avatar. Very colorful.

Any time! Although lately I've seen many non-Disney adds on the site, like diabetes, UCP (whatever that is!), Save Canada's Wilderness (Nice, but not quite Disney)...

And I'm glad you liked it, for a minute I thought you were going to ask me to drop it!

and why should it be MMBoy's and not UltimateDisney Bandwidth Savers.org?

Luke: Maybee it would be a better idea to buy the services for a Forum here: http://www.ezboard.com/

Then the forum are not taking bandwith from the website, and as I have understood it is the forum that is realy killing the bandwith.

Yeah, but part of the reason I chose this host was the ability to host a nice forum like this. And this forum is VERY nice compared to the crappy free ezboard stuff.

Thanks for the suggestion, though. If everyone who visited the forum would click just one Google ad per visit, it'd make a world of difference. Or always using the site's Amazon links and DMC banners when ordering/enrolling.

Then of course, donations from people like karlsen are the most direct and quick ways to support, I suppose. Thanks again for that!

Hello

Post by Disney Guru »

I havn't made any donations lately because I havn't been doing any buying on Amazon lately. But I am planning on going on a big shopping spree on Amazon.com in April so I will buy through your links then!
