THERE'S NOT SUCH THING AS "INDICATRORS"!!

I know this very well because even when I don't mind doing sometimes "girl things", I love Madonna, I know all the lyric of "I will survive" and I don't mind to sing it out loud or even dance it....if what I do can be caled "dance"..., I love Bambi(yes, everyone knows but I bet that if you saw in someone's room like 10 different plushies, 2 pillows with draws of Bambi and all walls green-collored you might think again) and I'm straight

I know I'm probably spending way too much time in this thread and clunking it up, but I just wanted to say thanks and that I feel just reading through it and discussing this with others have helped me to come to terms with who I am myself. I'm sorry if I might have made anyone uncomfortable here in sort of coming out right through the progression of this thread, but it just brought back up a lot of past feelings and moments. It's made me feel like I shouldn't be hiding it any longer, and now I can finally openly say I'm bi. I'm just worried that I might have made things awkward here.

Duster (I hope you don't mind me calling you that. If not I'll just refer to you back as Disney Duster), I mostly just want to say thanks and felt that talking to you has helped me to feel a lot less embarrassed about who I am, and I hope we can be friends as you suggested in your earlier post. :)

There are totally indicators... no one is claiming that they are fail-proof, but yes, there are indicators.

Who Here is Gay?

Post by Disney Duster »

Well, Isidour, I don't know why you came in here, to read about anything gay in the first place (thanks for...giving us a look...?), but I did say I know there are exceptions!

I suppose maybe, guys can like lots of "gay stuff", but it's not really gay, and it's really just that actual gay boys are more open to embrace and love theater and pink and "girly" things. But still, I was very girly since 5, (and 3, remembering wanting Sleeping Beauty read to me) and did realize even in kindergarten that I was rather unusual for what I liked and other boys didn't like it. At 5 I asked my father to dance with me as I set a timer to be the stroke of midnight, evidence to me that gayness and dance and "girly" things are related and people are gay from birth or very, very young.

Just a note, liking fairy tales, princesses, dancing, singing, theater, female singers, pink, are not gay in an of themselves, anyone cna like them and should like them, it's just that they do have relation to being gay. But they aren't gay in and of themselves and it's not gay to like them...it's hard for me to explain this without making truly straight theater lovers feel weird.

Thank you PrincePhillipFan, I'm glad we can be friends, and you are more open and know more about who you are. I'm surprised this one thread did such a great thing for you. So, to further what you said earlier, I, too like that the books offer different art of the characters I love, after all, the movies are drawn, so it's like getting more movie, more character! And I never noticed until it was pointed out that yes, the princesses are deprived of their personality and individuality in the products and advertising. Many people agree.

Thank you SpringHeelJack, as well.

Oh, this thread is making me happy. :) I'm glad we can all explore and discuss these things.

Disney Duster:

Well, any 29-pages thread isn't just enough interesting or even wake up anyone's curiosity? :P
Besides, not being gay isn't something that could prevent me from this thread(not only because it's an open forum and you know that stuff)but also have many gay friends(...ones who also look very straight as was mentioned before but they're self-proclaimed gay)
Now that you mention it...my favorite Disney movie besides Bambi was Sleeping Beauty too(I think I was in love of Maleficent!)

And also for one more thing: I suppose this thread as all which are done here are for knowing us better(don't know if you also think so)

Before I go, anyone wonders why or when did Bella stop reading and started to be the kind of girl she never intended to be?

Who Here is Gay?

Post by Disney Duster »

Oh, forgot to say, PrincePhillipFan, I like Duster. Also, I had a few crushes on girls too, when I was younger, but now I know I am gay. In high school, though, it was evident my one crush on a girl was different from my crush on a boy that started in middle school, complete with feelings and everything. I think I just thought the girl was cute but I really wanted the boy. Anyway, I'm just saying maybe you could have crushes on both and end up going one way anyway.

Yes, Isidour, all the striaghties say they thought the leading ladies in princess films were hot...sometimes I wonder if that's some kind of an excuse, even I tried pulling that here just to throw people off about me being gay at first...but I don't doubt you had a genuine secret wish to be dominated by that hot, powerful woman and her electrocuting staff or bound and chained in her dungeon.

Yes, this thread is for getting to know everyone, and ourselves, better. There are some who will come in and day I'm gay and there's nothing else besides my sexuality that says that, and then there will be people, like me, who come out and say they're gay all the way. Well, I'm not into clothes that much or a diva-worshipper, but enough.

Belle stopped thinking of being independent because the filmakers screwed up and it turns out Belle regressed instead of progressed by becoming just like every other Disney princess. She may not have wanted to have strapping young boys with Gaston but I'm sure she'll end up with pups. That's why Belle ain't no better than any other princess, she's worse. :P

Well, I don't think it ever said that Belle stopped reading books. Besides, I don't think marriage points to regression. In marriage, the two are dependent on one another, not one dependent on an independent other. Belle's still independent (meaning she could survive on her own if she had to), but she's in love now is all.

And, also, Belle never became the girl she mentioned in the beginning. That girl is the kind that has children for her husband and keeps her mouth shut, her only responsibility to be a mother. Does anyone honestly believe Belle wouldn't take a role in political matters (she is Queen/Princess at the end)?

Actually that sounds a lot like my childhood as well, Duster. :p

I was pretty much divided when I was growing up with my interests. As a boy I tended to like some girly stuff, like a lot of the Disney princess stuff from the early 90s like books, dolls, etc, but also had some boys interests as well. Although I always tended to lean more toward liking a lot of the girly stuff, which kind of put me out of place with the other boys group.

As for high school, I would say it's about equal for me and how I felt. I had the same kind of crushes on both my gay friends and girls, and liked them in their each own different way, and find beauty in each gender. Although I was always afraid of that fact, and I never really had a discussion about my sexuality before like this here, which is why I think it's finally coming out now. I'm not sure if I might ever lean one way or the other eventually, but I'm perfectly happy in love still now with my girlfriend as I always have been for the past few years, and I'll always remain true to her. Although I won't deny that now I can still find other gays attractive in their own way.

Oh, I also tried to send you a private message before here, but since I registered after date, I'm unable to send any. I know that you like seeing any different storybooks you can find of characters like me, and I have a few old storybooks from the 60s and 70s of Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty my grandmother gave to me as she was moving out of her old house. I wanted to know if there were any of the pictures that you would like me to send to you from them if you're interested. :)

:P

I didn't got that :? :? :?

errr....no
My fantasies were more like being Prince Philip--except for the name of course--fight Maleficent and instead of killing her get all her power :P
But now that I'm not 6...the dungeon part sounds pretty interesting

I feel selfish for changing the subject suddenly without having read the entire thread (though I have followed it on and off).

I'm doing this in a state of frenzy. I can't take it anymore. My family doesn't want me to do it yet, but I'm sick of holding it in.

I'M GAY!!

There I go...

I guess I can always delete/edit this post if I feel I've done a mistake revealing this in front of the whole internet.

In the meantime ... I know that I've done what my heart wanted, that is, come out of the closet. But my eldest brother (who is 38 and somewhat of a second father to me) doesn't want me to reveal it yet, in fear of my suffering certain consequences which at the moment I can't quite recall. I need to have a chat with him ... but I think he will be mad when he finds out what I've done. He and his wife care insanely about me, even though they've got their own two children to take care of.

I want to tell my friends... :(

Well thanks for telling us. Its great to know and hope it fells good for you to let us. It takes guts to do it. I hope you can tell your friends soon but whenever you feel ready IS best. Most people will likely accepted but if any don't why should they be your friends? Sounds cliché but its true but you know you can always be yourself here. :)

Congrats for coming out and telling us, Julian. It takes a lot of courage to come out and say who you are. I just wish I hadn't been in denial myself for so long and try to hide it and come up front about myself. Now I just feel rather embarrassed about myself for it.

Just curious, but does anyone recommend a good way for letting your parents know about it? I'm debating whether or not I should be up front about me being bi to them, since really my girlfriend is the one I'm most closest too. Anyone recommend I tell them in a certain way to come out about it? I'm not really sure how to.

Yeah, me too. It used to feel special and cool being gay. Now it just feels so blah. I'm pretty sure I can switch back over. Ted Haggard seems to think so.

Divinity, (may I call you that? It makes you sound like a subjective, special thing like grace or Trinity from The Matrix), I was being cheeky when I said that about Belle and tongue in cheek. I wouldn't realy mean she regressed, otherwise I'd be saying all the princesses I love regressed. She did want to have an adventure and true love like the princesses from the very start, anyway. Personally, Belle and Cinderella would make great Queens. Belle is smart and has great ideas, of course. But I've also been analyzing Cinderella a lot lately and I wonder if the mice who serve Cinderella, but she provides for, make her own little kingdom which hints at how she will be as Queen. All the princesses will be kind, generous rulers, of course

PhillipFan, hmmm...maybe I'll call you Phan? Maybe that sounds weird. Tell me what you think, try it out in your head, or aloud. Anyway, it's cool our childhoods were similar! You've loved your girlfriend for years? Aw, that's cute and slightly sad at the same time (that you've had a heterelationship for so long...yes, I'm that bad!). Well, good for you. Meanwhile, OMG I would love pictures from it, my E-mail is lemonhippocave@gmail.com, we can talk about it.

Isidour, with that "excuse" comment, I was trying to say I wished you were gay, but a truly straight guy who likes singing, dancing, cute animals and fairy tales is adorable. Of course Aurora's hot, they purposely tried to make her the most beautiful princess (think of her movie's title). Yes, I read someone actually talked to Marc Davis and they knew what they were doing when Maleficent enjoyed seperating an attractive man from his love and binding him and chaining him while she only had ugly stupid goons as company.

Julian, I actually wondered if you were gay. I can't say what it was that hinted at it, I think it was something in your pictures, some gaydar I must have. I'm glad you came out, but I was worried that because you lived in the very religious Malta, it would be murder. Let us know how things go, and be safe.

SpringHeelJack, someday I will E-mail you back...tomarrow looks sunny.

Flam-Ham, OMG TOO FUNNY. Seriously, so bright, so hilarious.

Well, while I never did that, I would pretend to be Ariel in the swimming pool when she comes up after being turned into a human lol.
