Well, on one hand, I'd say it is true 'cos it seems really "Disneyish" and a well done artwork.
But, on the other hand, we know that most of the DVD artwork are made at the last minute, before the release, So this one comes out a little too soon...
Bu it's a good artwork, I'd love it to be the final one, I like it :)
Chandler (to Phoebe, over the phone) : Listen, Joey isn't gonna be here tonight so why don't you come over and I'll let you uh.. feel my bicep; or maybe more...

Probably real, although it looks like Disney is nearly flirting with breaking the 23% Genie rule.

Hey, I really like that cover! But the disc art looks like it's just the cover art re-pasted. I doubt that'll be the final disc art.

I think the artwork for both box and discs will be changed come the following months.

Looks pretty real to me. I think the disc art will be changed and the box art may be tweaked slightly in the future but I think in large part it'll still look like it does in this picture. I like it.

Aladdin Cover Art

Post by Disney Guru »

Hey I love that Cover Art. I hope that is the one that Disney ends up using. It is really awesome and it shows a lot of talent. And expertise! So Bravo Disney Bravo! You can say one thing about Disney they always get and use the best coverarts!

I really like it, but I'd like to see it look more of a purple color, like the VHS cover. Mostly because all of the other platinum/special/masterpiece covers lately have been some shade of dark blue (Snow White, Beauty & the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, and Alice) except for Lion King. I'd just like them to do something a little different for this one, and give my disney shelf a little excitement

Its an alright cover but its not all that different from the 90's cover. Come to think of it neither was the Beauty and the Beast cover either.

It looks real to me. A classy cover in my opinion. I hope it's final. But it probably will be tweaked a little bit.

I think it's real too, if is not, it's pretty close to the disney dvd design nowadays...

although is kinda weird, that we haven't seen it bigger and from an official source.

I really like that! Its much better than the box art I saw before for Aladdin. It's a lot liek the 1992 VHS cover which I like. I hope the rest of the platinum editions have improved versions of the "classics" collection covers. They were much more original than the gold/masterpiece collection.

i hope that they put the second silver banner on the bottom having a phrase similar to the otherplatinum titles, "featuring a whole new musical sequence" for example. :D

Though Disney hasn't released cover art their normal ways, this is how the real artwork first turned up for The Lion King. Except it was at Costco's website, which doesn't have a listing for Aladdin, yet.

I really like that cover art and how the Genie's not as overpowering as usual. It sort of breaks the Platinum style of the main character being prominent at the top and the minor characters at the bottom, but it's an overall great art. I agree that it'll probably be slightly altered by the end of the year (it's happened with every Disney animated 2-Disc thus far starting with Snow White all through Alice in Wonderland). I just hope the changes are minor as the cover's good enough as it is.

Couldn't agree with you more on that! The original VHS cover of The Little Mermaid, for example, was glorious and eye-catching and they totally ruined it with the dull 1998 and DVD cover. I really like this cover of Aladdin for the same reason you mentioned: it's pretty similiar to the 1993 one...
Me satisfied :D
