Al from Ag's Fanart
Thank you for what you said about me and honesty. My personal favorite so far is your Cinderella 3 cover! Remember that? The broken clock, the looming, leering Lady Tremaine, Cinderella's worried expression. I think it even inspired me to think of possible covers with borrowed elements from yours in my head. I tried to find a link to it, but it's gone.
My second favorite is Eilonwy. That one was amazing, though I liked it better without the yellow mist. All black is scarier, like you don't know where the rest of the Horned King's body is, is it big and encompassing, ready to swallow her?

Alladin From Agrabah's Fanart
ALL UmbrellaFish has to say is it's great? And the hand's off?
IT'S FANTASTIC, IT'S AMAZING, I DIDN'T EVEN DREAM OF IT, IT'S EXCEEDING IN IT'S GOODNESS, AND THE HAND DOESN'T LOOK BAD OR WRONG IN ANY WAY!
Of course the new shading adds to this astonishment, and it was new and you had to learn how to do it right and it looks fantastic.
Now, it's amazing because I wasn't prepared for it and it's your usual best with new techniques involved, and I guess I've found a lot of your other works more impressive, but for this case I'm using strong words.
Also, Al, can you post that Cinderella 3 pic with the broken clock for Vermin Friends?

As I said on Deviant Art:Aladdin from Agrabah wrote:So here's my first work with a pen tablet and photoshop. There's still much to learn, that's for sure. But here is it anyway:

I hope u like it!
p.s. About that pic with the merfamily, I'll pm it to u Vermin Friends as soon as possible.
I think I've seen the merfamily before, I was talking about the Cinderella 3 Cover, that Disney Duster was talking about-Easily one of, if not your best so far, the lines are all so much cleaner, the lighting is amazing. Great job!

Well, excuse me if I didn't use every adjective in the book. I take offence to that.Disney Duster wrote:ALL UmbrellaFish has to say is it's great? And the hand's off?
Anyway, you really did a great job, Al.

Re: Alladin From Agrabah's Fanart
Well, I'm not aplogizing even though you took offense, because I think the piece was worked on so obviously hard and it's so obviously great, it deserved more, and it didn't deserve a criticism of the hand when the hand looks fine. Sorry, WHAT'S wrong with it? The fingers too long, the thumb too fat? The wrist not bent the right way? Please try to explain.UmbrellaFish wrote:Well, excuse me if I didn't use every adjective in the book. I take offence to that.

Thanks for defending me, PeterPanfan, but I’ve realized its AladdinfromAgrabah’s opinion to my comment that matters, not DisneyDuster’s. It’s somewhat silly for one commenter to criticize another commenter for not praising another person’s art enough. All I said was that his hand looked a bit off, I think his fingers are a bit too slender. Maybe it was for contrast, hopefully Al can explain.
I do hope Al knows everyone (including myself) adores his artwork. And I thought this was another great piece.

You mean he DID criticize the drawing because he said Hercules' hand was off?PeterPanfan wrote:In UmbrellaFish's defense, it's not like he criticized the drawing, or anything.
Yea, that was my point. You were calling it just another great piece, not distinguishing it from his other pieces when this was clearly a very different piece, something new with new techniques and more work than his previous pieces. And I read why you criticized his hand and his hand still looks fine, there is no problem.UmbrellaFish wrote:I do hope Al knows everyone (including myself) adores his artwork. DisneyDuster, I'm sorry but you are a control freak. Are you the artist? No, so please be quiet. Really, it gets on people's nerves. I love your posts, but does this really matter? People think different things. Everything you think isn't always right. I would have liked to have dropped it early, but you want to keep it going on. And by the way, if you really like Al's work, you wouldn't have said anything. Did anyone else really think my post was inapproriate? Speak now, or forever hold your peace. And I read why you criticized his hand and his hand still looks fine, there is no problem.
Al, I'm extremely sorry for this. This thread should be given some respect, but we keep on fighting, and we know we shouldn't. It's stupid...
Still love your work.

UF gave some constructive criticism. Most artists appreciate that and welcome it. As a video maker, I do get tired of "That's great"...."I loved it"...after a while. Over and over again. I personally like to hear what they really loved about it and love to get pointers on where I might need to work on next time. Nothing wrong with what UF said!
Back to the art...AoA, I am glad to see you are branching out from Paint. Though you always did well with it, you certainly did pure Paint's limits and unfortunately, Paint is very limited. But you made it work well. So seeing you use other programs with more and better options if fantastic! The Herc image was awesome! The shading and highlights look great! I love his hair too. The way its on his shoulders, something caught my eye on that, not sure why. But great work!
