I , personnaly do not like the cover art for the upcoming release. Why don't they release the SE and PE with the original Poster from the original release? That would be neat!!!!

i think after a few touchups, like making the characters a bit more on model it wont be too bad. Initially though it did make me laugh out loud very hard, haha.

I like the artwork. TSITS holds a special place and it deserves a royal treatment, among other Disney Classics. Shame we can only see very few bonus features for this.

I hate to break it to you, but this DVD is probably going to be sparse on the bonus features. It's one of the movies that Disney's being digging into their Vault for, just to repackage it and make it look new.

the only semi-interesting extra is about the Sherman Brothers. sheesh give us something new Disney. We know how wonderful their music was. I mean that's all they'll talk abouy anyway. It's not like they'd address how they blatantly copied parts of the 101 Dalmatians score and just slapped it in there. It's just same old same old.

is it really THAT hard to include a gallery, theatrical trailer, small making of and story origin feature? I mean, they're small extras but they'd make this release so much more interesting. What's the point of releasing a movie like this on dvd if you're giving it a barebones VHS (shudder) treatment.

I thought of the all the Film Company's Disney would be the one who has been around the longest, who prides itslef in producing qaulity pictures, would the same for there DVD release, but Qaulity is something that just seems to not rejester with these studios.

Man, tough crowd. IT'S JUST A RE-RELEASE PEOPLE!!! No one ever said it was a Platinum Edition. I'm disappointed as well, but come on! The movie is still a classic!

Heh, good luck. In case you haven't noticed, we may complain about the quality of the DVDs, but when all is said and done, we buy them anyway. But you go do that.

It took you this long after what...3 years of mediocre releases?

They first lost some of my respect when slipcovers started appearing and trailers started disappearing.

They lost more of my respect after the insult-to-a-viewer's-intelligence EasyFind icons and FastPlay feature were added.

They lost a huge chunk of my respect when Tarzan and The Emperor's New Groove were downgraded to single-discs while Lilo & Stitch: Special Edition remained in R1 release limbo.

Then, they finally lost all my respect when Peter Pan was given such a crappy "Platinum" treatment and deserved so much more.

There's no point in hoping for the glory days of 2001-2004.

A gallery is included: "The Sword in the Stone Scrapbook". Unless you mean a more in-depth gallery that's more than the 60 images and 8 text screens.

I have a sad feeling that the Disneyland episode may be dropped (but if it's part of that ever-teasing ever-annoying "And Much More!" tag, I won't be surprised).

Nope.

I was stupidly hoping that they could have at least culled together some old interviews (either from the Disney Studio Album series, or additional comments made during interviews for other DVDs) into a hasty 10-minute featurette. That'd at least be something worth upgrading for. The Doctor Who DVDs do that all the time (ask the interview subjects during the interview session about more than one serial than the one that they're mainly being interviewed for, that way they can use those comments for a future documentary). Disney should really start "banking" interviews for future use.

Yes, a few hundred angry fans can boycott Disney while a few million Soccer Moms and Joe Sixpacks buy the stuff anyway.

Frankly, I have no idea why people are still clinging to the idea of a non-Platinum two-disc DVD...

Anyway, perhaps the only reason I have to rebuy this is the theatrical ratio being available.

(and if I hear one more word from someone that's along the lines of "OMG, they're matting the picture, I want the full animated picture! How dare Disney provide the theatrical ratio! Give me the full animated picture, and to hell with those that want the theatrical ratio! Appease us, not them!" I will throw a pink elephant at them and have the elephant stomp their eyes out. I can understand both sides of the argument regarding matted animation, but why is it some people are always so damn insistent on believing in only one and forcing that belief on others? Seriously! And to anyone reading this, I'm sorry for the mini-rant).
