Nightmare 3D reissue?
I'm just wondering, for the past two Halloween's, Disney's released a version of Nightmare Before Christmas in "Disney Digital 3D" and as much as I wanted to see it, I couldn't cause the nearest digital theatre was a four or five hour drive away. But just this past Friday, with a rerelease of that Hannah Montana 3D thing, four digital theatres were added around here. Now, I'm just wondering if Disney has plans to release it a third time around so I can finally see it. Has anyone heard anything? or is it too early to ask.
It's scheduled to return October 24th (on my birthday, no less). I've missed out the past two years because I had no digital 3-D screens near me for the film's first year, and this past year I wasn't working and had no money. This year, however, I plan on seeing it for my birthday. I'm not sure how long it'll run for, though, so see it as soon as you can.

Glad this one will be returning! I saw it twice in its first year (even if I had to go a bit over an hour out of my way...) and once last year (a much closer theatre had it!) and really enjoyed seeing it in the cinema again. The Digital 3D presentation was icing on the cake; the depth to the picture is just great.
I hope this will indeed become a long-standing tradition! I'll be looking forward to going back this fall!

3D DVDs never look good. They have to use the red / blue 3D format as opposed to the one Disney uses for Disney Digital 3D. The result is less than thrilling. Quite frankly, I'd prefer a regular transfer.SwordInTheStone777 wrote:3D version Special Edition would be awsome, with 3D glasses

But what of Blu-ray? I heard a rumor it was coming to that format soon.SpringHeelJack wrote: 3D DVDs never look good. They have to use the red / blue 3D format as opposed to the one Disney uses for Disney Digital 3D. The result is less than thrilling. Quite frankly, I'd prefer a regular transfer.
FYI it played for just two weeks last year in theaters.

You mean 3D Blu-ray or just a Blu-ray release? I'd imagine a Blu-ray release is pretty likely. Or, would Disney Digital 3D work on a Blu-ray, is that what you're asking? That I do not know. I'd assume not... but what do I know.

I dunno... the impression I got, and I may be totally wrong, is that DD3D just doesn't work on video at all for whatever reason. I don't know the mechanics behind it.
But, yeah, I would sure as heck hope it would be anamorphic. I mean, if it like even had the same special features as the past SE release, it would pretty solid. I wonder if they'd spring for a two-disc for it? At the very least to give the highest image quality possible on disc one, and putting all the bonus features form the last release on disc two, given they were pretty good, overall. I know they hate doing two disc releases for the Classics, but I wonder, since "National Treasure" gets one...
