That was so brilliant that you get a cookie for the day. :D
Gasp! I love Cookies! Thanks for the compliment. :D

I also fear my parents will try to take over my life. To me that's not irrational...

You never answered that question. Would a fear of clowns be considered irrational?

Only if the clowns haven't really done anything to you.

It's more common than I would have expected, but it's still irrational.

I'm terrified of talking on the telephone.

No joke.

I don't really know why, but I get all clammy and start to panic when I'm asked to talk on the phone. When I actually manage to I give short single word answers and hold the receiver about half a foot a way from my head; it usually moves further away the longer the "conversation" lasts. I never say goodbye until after I hang up.

Yup, I'm very odd.

That's kind of like me, too. I don't like calling people I don't know very well (let alone perfect strangers), and become very self-concious when I do talk on the telephone. It's very weird; my parents always ball me out about it.
I'm just valentine candy and boxing-gloves!

I actually know a lot of people who greatly dislike telephones, oddly enough (or not). That's why my instant messenger gets such a work out.

I don't really like talking on the phone, and I have at least one friend who doesnt. I don't have a fear of it, but I agree- it's kind of common. But I've never heard of anyone having a genuine fear of it. But, that's okay, Widdi- I wouldn't say you're "odd"- just "special"! :)

Ok, I have an odd one: I can't stand watching people drink milk. It just freaks me out, and I have no explanation for it.

There. Now you know I'm mad. :)

I'm seriously afraid of movie posters. Not all posters, just the variety of huge floating head or heads on top/some kind of scenery on bottom (which makes up the majority of film posters today, it would seem). Being locked in a room with the poster for 'Enchanted', for instance, would probably give me a full blown panic attack. I'm usually fine with other varieties of posters where there are no huge floating heads.

Add me to the list of people who are afraid of heights. I can't do outdoor roller coasters, although things like Tower of Terror are fine.

Not really, but I would hate them if they were poster sized.

Except there is a part of TOT where you see outside and from that point, the view is a bit high.

I know but fortunately most times I've ridden it I've been seated in the back so my view is sort of obstructed by the other riders. When I'm seated closer to the front I just close my eyes fast. I HATE that part of the ride. :o

Would mistrusting eBay when one [that one being yours truly] has no direct reason for this mistrust count as an irrational fear?

My mom doesn't want me to go to New York with the drama club because she's afraid I'll get lost.

Nevermind the fact that the drama coach (who I absolutely love, then again I'm technically NOT in drama club. She's still letting those interested go) had to walk through Hell and back to get this approved.

SIGH.

I'm still working on it.
Man has a dream
And that's the start
He follows his dream
With mind and heart
And when it becomes a reality
It's a dream come true
For you and me!

I am afraid of water...not really irrational because I am afraid of sharks or alligators or anything that will eat me. However, I used to have a hard time in swimming pools on occasion. I could clearly see that nothing was in there and I don't live where alligators are but I would freak out sometimes. Kind of sad and embarrassing.

It still may be irrational because thinking something will eat you in a swimming pool is not usually rational thinking. However, if you were at pools that had incidents of people-eating animals being there, or news of animals escaping to pools, or if it's just when you're in water where those kinds of animals could be living, like in a deep nature-made body of water, then it would be rational.

Perhaps I just need to get one, but in a number of cases, I just despise dogs. It's alright if they're dogs of friends/relatives or if they're strangers' dogs and are in public are on leads, but if they're not, I flip inside. If I see a dog not on a lead in public, the feeling that I get feels almost as though I'm just metres away from a tiger or crocodile. It's quite an embarrassing phobia, I must say, and I have come close to ridding of it in the past, but then I just seem to come across an insane dog who one minute seems to be gentle enough to be let off a lead by its owner and then for some reason can't stop barking at me. Fortunately, I've never been bitten by any animal of any sorts (as far as I can remember).

I also am scared of injections. A slightly more normal fear... :p

Ug, I hate needles too! As far as I am concerned they are weird! Although I don't hate them as much anymore.
