Princess Jasmine-A Spoiled Brat Or A Spunky Princess?
I found this topic on Streetrat website and someone asked if Princess Jasmine is a spoiled brat.
Well,I don't think she's spoiled or a brat at all,she is a spunky princess, there's nothing spoiled about merrying from love and not merrying snobbish princes who dosn't care about her,the palace was a jail for and a jail is a jail,no matter if it's a cheap cage or a five stars suite, she made her dream come true, there's nothing spoiled or bratty about that, she is rich but her father is a sultanm, she whould give up on everything she had for freedom, she's not spoiled, the original Jasmine WAS going to be the spoiled and bratty one.
Your thoughts?.

Well... frankly, it's a matter of taste. Not everyone is going to like every character, and all princesses are capable of acting like spoiled brats. I'd say Snow White and Cinderella were by far the least bratty. Jasmine was naïve and she simply grew up in an atmosphere that technically did "spoil" her, but she also had spirit, determination, a sense of justice, and other ordered light traits that make up a heroine.

That's hot.

That's probably because they were basically enslaved by their stepmothers, not that they wouldn't be as "bratty" as the newer princesses (which is clearly arguable) if they were given the same amount of freedom to do so.I'd say Snow White and Cinderella were by far the least bratty.
Personally, Jasmine has always been one of my least favorite heroines. I think the fact that she was originally intended to be a spoiled princess says a lot about her, though to a varying degree.

Listening to most often lately:
Christina Aguilera ~ "Cruz"
Sombr ~ "homewrecker"
Megan Moroney ~ "Beautiful Things"

I think Jasmine, epecially in the first movie, is a bit self-involved and well...I'd use a different b adjective to describe her than bratty. She's also very brave, independent, resourceful, and protective of the people she cares about. I also think she matures a lot over the course of the movies and tv series. She's probably one of my favorite Disney heriones.
Bear in mind that my two actual favorites (Ariel & Meg) are the ones who made literal deals with the devil.
I like my heroines flawed (and with amazing voices).

Here i wanted to check opinionSleepingBeautyAurora wrote:The topic reminds me of another topic we discussed (Aurora: Damsel in Distress or Heroine ?) We all know where that thread ended up.
.She also called Jafar on randomly beheading people without her permission, sticking up for the poor showed she was anything but selfish.
Well, but she was in love with Aladdin,he wasn't some random guy from the street, and besides-Jafar is a vizier, not a sultan,I don't think he can behead people I don't even think she was angry because he did it without her premission but because how cared about Aladdin and she wanted to know why he was arrested

How so? Both threads are essentially asking the forum members for their opinion regarding the notion that Princess ABC is an XYZ or an SRQ, and to back it up with examples/inferences from the movies.Ariel'sprince wrote:Here i wanted to check opinionSleepingBeautyAurora wrote:The topic reminds me of another topic we discussed (Aurora: Damsel in Distress or Heroine ?) We all know where that thread ended up.it's nothing like the Aurora topic.

I find that hard to believe, looking at your past history on this forum.....Ariel'sprince wrote: Here i wanted to check opinionit's nothing like the Aurora topic.
She just met the dude on the street. In a sense he is a "random stranger" as she hardly knew anything about him except that he save her from that store keeper.Ariel'sprince wrote:Well, but she was in love with Aladdin,he wasn't some random guy from the street,
You don't get romantically involve that quickly.

Agree with every wordAladdin from Agrabah wrote:Spoiled brat? Trapped in a palace and forced to choose one of those stupid/ugly/rude egomaniacs and marry him within 3 days? Any normal person would have formed a far worse character than Jasmine's. She just claims her rights in every way that she can. She's not spoiled, she's normal.
That's InsultingSuper Aurora wrote:I find that hard to believe, looking at your past history on this forum..... .Ariel'sprince wrote:

At first he was going for her due to her beautiful looks. He even admits that to the Genie over at the desert oasis.Ariel'sprince wrote:Maybe, but he did understand her and they cared for each other, maybe if it wasn't true love yet
