I remember this disney little mermaid storybook I had, and there was one where the sisters were invited to a party held by a rich mermaid (who I remember as looking something similer to marina, but Im not sure as I havent seen it in like 7 years) and it ended up she was ursula in disguise.caioloki wrote:I think Marina Del Ray is actually Ursula. I mean, there are too many similarities between them! This can't be ignored! Other than that, those creatures she sets free are the same as those creaures ursula "owns" (dont know their name in english, sorry lol)
I was just referring to the bizarre music list that came out on wikipedia not so long ago, which had shake selena or something smiler, along with a duet with Sebastian and the crazy frog.
I don't think that's fair at all. "Shake Senora" was included in the musical preview on the DVD. It's highly unlikely that they would include something like that, and then dump it at the last minute. Speaking of, why did they redo that scene completely? I'm not sure if the audio is different yet, since it wasn't synchronized correctly, but it's pretty obvious that they did redo it.
I really do not know how I am being unfair here[/quote]

I think perhaps we areatlanticaunderthesea wrote:That's interesting Someday, about it being Ursula in disguise. But are we all just wanting Ursula to be in it, and tyring to find a milliion different ways that she could be ?

heres hoping marina can hold her own on this show, although she seems to be humorous at least (her relationship with Sebastian reminds me of C.C and Niles on the Nanny

Well, why else would they make another villainess with the same color scheme as the original if there weren't some connection? And then have her use eels (albeit, electric instead of moray)? And even have the same color eyes as the original villainess (and facial movements, if I were to be honest)?
I think they're just using the new voices for Triton and Marina to throw us off (and make us think that, since this is a prequel, they would sound different). Maybe Ursula, as well as the two eels who survive the attack on Ariel, ends up cursed to be half octopus (or cecaelian; learned a new word today) by Triton when he banishes her, so that everyone knows that she is an outcast. I mean, Ursula was practically the only half-human that wasn't a mermaid.

The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning
Yes, maybe Triton strips the eels of their electric power? Although none of them look like Flotsam or Jetsam. Or what if Marina is supposed to have a beautiful voice (she's supposed to help choreograph a song for the "Lunar Tide Festival") and Triton takes it away...making her want to have a beautiful voice again...Disney's Divinity wrote:Maybe Ursula, as well as the two eels who survive the attack on Ariel, ends up cursed to be half octopus (or cecaelian; learned a new word today) by Triton when he banishes her, so that everyone knows that she is an outcast. Disney Villain, now I see what you were talking about, yes it was an editing error to have the same mermaid (Attina) that dives into the water shown on the rock next to Athena right afterward!

I totally loved the preview. But I think they should have made Ariels mother into a blonde or brunette since it was enough to know that Triton was a red head but now none of Tritons daughters except for ariel look anything like him or his wife. But it was nice to have that very bried clip of Ariels mother sitting with one of her daughters that wasnt Ariel. And I have always wanted them to reveal that Ariels real name is something like Ariella, so it would flow with the other sisters names (Ariel is the only one whose name doesnt end in an A afterall)
And had we not had Return To The Sea, having Marina be Ursula wouldve been a great thing but now we know that Ursula has family that look just like her and just from the tv show we know there are other kinds of merpeople out there.

Well, maybe they're just ignoring the sequel (just like the rest of the world...)? I mean, they've consistently ignored the TV series. Twist in Time also seems to ignore Cinderella's first sequel to a great extent, so there's still a likelihood there.
Now that I think about it, TLM's got a very messy track record.

there isnt a lot to ignore from the tv series, only thing they seem to be ignoring is Ariel and Flounders first meeting. The tv series could probably be set after this movie for obvious reasons.Disney's Divinity wrote:Well, maybe they're just ignoring the sequel (just like the rest of the world...)? This may sound perverted, but is it me or does this image look like she is taking a blowjob?

Someday-Shake Sanora will be obviously in the soundtrack,Wikipedia made up a name for it (Shake Shake Shake Salulo) and made up some stupid songs (the Crazy Frog and the Sebastian? did they also thought that Flounder will sing with Madonna?
) and now it's gone from there.
Disney Villain and atlanticaunderthesea-actually Ariel is the one who's right and i think she knows why music is banned, why he suddenly wants music to be banned? i think Marina has something to do with it,and Ariel found the music box,i think the sisters will help her (even Flounder and Sebastian (Triton's coadjutor) disobey him,why not the sister? and Adella and Andrina were happy when she was humming).

i just hope there's more to the beginning(a scene of ariel's mom before something happens to her so we can get to know her personality) than just that one clip where we see ariel's mother and the pirates.
after watching the preview, i really have high hopes now that the music box will be part of the cover art

How do you think that this movie will start?
I mean, will it start with the baby Ariel or with the human Ariel narrating the story?
(I don't wanna see the human Ariel in this movie!!!)

It's interesting to see that marina will most likely be ursula in the end.
I sure hope they bring back patt carol though, i do miss her voice over!
Like the cigarette smoking man in the x-files her voice is rugged and crisp, it still gives me chills!
By the way, has anyone noticed that the shake sanora song has been redubbed, no better if you ask me!
As far as flotsom and jetsom go, they must be the only ones left, once the rest is illiminated by triton.
