DVD advice: Ask for help or help others!

the movies i need are meet the robinsons, ratatouille, robin hood(most wanted edition), the fox and the hound(25 anniversary), dumbo(big top edition) the aristocats(special edition).

Don't bother with the tree-killing DVD condoms and get the following at Borders:

If you're getting two:
-Meet the Robinsons
-Dumbo

If you're getting three:
-The two above
-Robin Hood - the third
-The Fox and the Hound - free

Aristocats is a nice movie and all, but I'd pick the above four over it.

If you're really into bonus features, even if it's only about 20+ minutes, Target has a store-exclusive bonus disc for Ratatouille, so get that there if they still have copies (it'll be shrinkwrapped on the back of the case, hidden by the tree-killing DVD condom).

i have 35 dollars in borders giftcards and since i am behind on buying disney movies, i moist likely will get 2 or 3 and possibly a 4th because borders always has buy 3 get a 4th free. the movies i need are meet the robinsons, ratatouille, robin hood(most wanted edition), the fox and the hound(25 anniversary), dumbo(big top edition) the aristocats(special edition). if any of these have slips i will most likely get those 1s because i am a slipcover freak but wanted your advide.

All the DVDs you listed originally included slipcovers except for Meet The Robinsons, which is one that gets mixed reviews from fans anyway and I don't personally recommend it.

I don't get the big deal fans make over slipcovers, but that's just me. I'm neutral on the issue, and I mostly buy pre-owned and really don't care if the slipcover's still included. They're just a marketing gimmick anyway--designed to make a DVD stand out from others based solely on the packaging.

This is how I would personally rank the others in your list--based on my personal opinion, mind you:

5. Fox & The Hound
4. Aristocats
3. Dumbo
2. Robin Hood
1. Ratatouille

My professional opinion is that Dumbo's a much better movie than Robin Hood, but I have a special sentimental attachment to RH and thus rank it higher.

I would.

It's rumored to be going platinum, but there is no concrete proof of this yet. If it isn't going to be the 15 PE, Alice could be reissued as early as this year and it could be a 1-Disc set. If you don't want to take the chance on an inferior release or wait 3 years for the rumored PE (which very well could be an inferior release anyways) I'd buy it now.

so i went to borders and all of the movies i wanted had their slipcovers=] but were 29.99=[ i refused to pay that much. so i bought nothing. lol. today i went to target and bought ratatouille for 10 bucks and also bought dumbo bigh top edition for 14.99. next time i go to borders, i am determined to buy at least 1 of the movies. lol

I was just at Best Buy last night with my dad and was browsing through the Disney DVDs and decided to look at the Robin Hood: MWE, but I've passed that DVD so many times and have wondered if I should buy it, I finally looked at the back of the case and it doesn't appear to have too many features...but I still love the movie...and is it in full-screen or wide-screen?

So basically, is it worth the buy? (It's like 19.99.)

The animation critic in me recognizes the films many flaws and some poor production quality, but RH its still a nostalgic favorite of mine. And I especially love it for Peter Ustinov's exceptional performance as Prince John, and the rest of the cast does a pretty darn good job too.

I don't have the Gold Collection release of this film, only the VHS. Actually, most of the Disney movies I own are on VHS, so I figured that I'd go ahead and start collecting the DVD's so as not to wear out my VHS'.

So do you think I should go on ebay and try to get the Gold Collection release of Robin Hood, instead of getting the MWE? Or should I just go ahead and get the MWE?

"Mickey Mouse in Living Color: Volume Two"!!! That's just my opinion. "The Aristocats" should be readily available for a while, since it just came out (and in the future the price will drop), and "The Sword in the Stone" is being rereleased...if you can find it at a store for cheap now, though, then get it, but otherwise I guess just wait- the new edition will be cheaper in its first week, hopefully, or else just wait a while and the price will drop.

Yes and yes!!! I personally adore "Brother Bear"- the story is great, the characters are great, the music is AMAZING!!!! I'm a big fan of it.
