Just wanna know some simple details though, the added "2" to the title, how will that work? Will it change the whole title to "National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets" (which doesn't sound right) or will it be like Pirates, where it's near the bottom and is printed so it can be read when the cover is spined on your shelf? Now, the more important questions: Will the Blu-ray be 2 discs or just 1? and the one we all want to know: What's the street date? I thought it would follow the first one and be in early May, but with this info so early, could it be earlier, like sometime in late March or April?Disney has issued some details on National Treasure: Book of Secrets, which will be coming to DVD and Blu-ray sometime this spring. Customers will get to choose from two widescreen DVD versions, a single-disc with only an audio commentary by Jon Voight and Jon Turteltaub ($29.99 SRP) and a slipcovered 2-Disc Collector's Edition with the commentary, deleted scenes, bloopers, and 7 additional featurettes. The Blu-ray edition (also $34.99 SRP) will hold all the 2-disc DVD's extras plus 2 more deleted scenes and an exclusive feature. The covers of all three versions will add the number "2" before the subtitle.
After a month in theaters, the PG-rated Nicolas Cage sequel has earned $200 million domestically and another $140 million overseas, making it Disney's third highest-grossing 2007 release.

Has anyone heard anything as to when to expect this? I was talking to one of our reps at work today, she said she hasn't heard an exact date, but that my early- May prediction sounds about right. But she did confirm that whenever the date is, we should expect to get the blu-ray of the first film. Which is a bit obvious, but at least someone's confirming it. Anyway, I keep you all updated if I hear anything, and if you have any info, please POST IT!

May 20th is now confirmed.
Here it is http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=917. Now, it's a Blu-ray site but does say that the releases are (obviously) day and date. I know I'll definitly be picking up Book of Secrets on Blu-ray, but I don't know if I'll double dip on the first one, at least, not right away. But many, that's gonna be one crazy couple of days. Also, notice that May 20 is just two days before the opening of the new Indiana Jones film. Coincidence, I think NOT!!!

I will definitely be picking up the 2-Disc DVD version of this film. I saw it in the theater and I really liked it. In fact, I hadn't seen the original film when I saw the sequel in the theater. I sat down a couple weeks ago and watched the DVD I purchased of the first film and I have to say - I think the second one was better.

National Treasure 2 in-store bonuses?
Does anybody know of any in-store bonuses for National Treasure 2 that will be available tomorrow? Walmart? Future Shop? Best Buy?
If you go to Superstore here in Canada I think they are offering bonus PC Points.

Target often has bonus sets... not sure about Disney but for movies like Spider-Man 3 they had an exclusive 3-disc set (the normal 2-disc set with an added bonus disc from them)
Wal-Mart hardly ever does extra discs unless it's music related (like the albums that come with a free making-of DVD), so I wouldn't look there.
I don't know that there WILL be any extras. Getting a 2-disc special edition is good enough, stores don't need incentive to add other stuff as well. It all depends on what stores you're by, though...

BestBuy, according to the Sunday ad from two days ago - free 30 days to piratesonline.com
It just me, or would that have been a better in store bonus for POTC: At World's End?
I don't care about in store bonuses - I'm getting the 2 DISC edition tomorrow when I (hopefully) pick up my WiiFit from Target.

Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

Not true... For instance, the re-releases of the Indiana Jones movies came with lenticular covers, there are often bonus discs included with family movies and others (Ice Age 2, Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Madagascar, Hood Winked, etc.,) and they also package some unavailable horror films with a new release (The Ugly, The House that Dripped Blood, etc.)drfsupercenter wrote: Wal-Mart hardly ever does extra discs unless it's music related (like the albums that come with a free making-of DVD), so I wouldn't look there.
