Just go ahead and get it, I always end up "double-dipping" as it's called.

PE most always have more features than any pervious Editions.

All of 'em have (not counting laserdiscs) but that will be the 1st double dip of a two disc-er so nobody knows.

I have the Sleeping Beauty: Special Edition as well. I am planning on "double dipping" for the Platinum Edition. It will be my first double dip. I have only been collecting Disney DVDs since 2005, and I had to purchase my "Special Edition" from eBay. I really enjoy the Platinum Edition line, and I want to have the Sleeping Beauty under the Platinum title. I don't know if it will be worth the upgrade, so I am planning on keeping my "Special Edition" copy because worth it or not - I am upgrading!

I'm hanging on to my two-disc SE of "Sleeping Beauty" until I hear what's included on the PE. If I like it, I might sell my old copy and pick up the new one. I will in all likelihood pick up the new PE because I would hope the transfer would be slightly better (a lot of the reds seem to bleed on my DVD).

I am sure Disney will put more on the Blu-ray release than the DVD! :x
That ticks me off since I do not have a Blu-ray player!

why doesn't it? The LD of some of the PE's have more on them than the PE discs. This is also the first time something that has already been released on 2-Disc DVD is being released on 2-Disc DVD again. Other movies have been upgraded to/downgraded from 2-Discs but this is the first re-release of a title that will be two discs both times.

But Quantity does not equal Quality! I'd be very surprised if the Platinum Edition has half as much of actual value as the Special Edition does.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I really agree! I think we had a great release with the Special Edition, I see no reason to upgrade only if you have a Blu-ray player, which I don't. :(

Exactly. Disney does their Blu-Rays right the first time. I'm quite confident that it will be reference quality and I'll never have to buy it again.

I was kinda wondering myself about how different the PE will be from the SE :?, 'cause I don't own Sleeping Beauty (not even the VHS :()...so should I wait for the PE to come out or should I buy the SE that's already out?

In my opinion, wait for the Platinum Edition. The SE is out of print, so you'll pay more for the SE than you will when the PE comes out- you'll more than likely be able to get the PE when it comes out for around $16.99ish.
