These titles are available through the Disney Educational Series: The Light in the Forest (DVD), Justin Morgan had a Horse (DVD), and Scrooge McDuck on Money (VHS). I checked out The Light in the Forest disc from our public library, and the picture was very good -- at least it wasn't poor quality like Natty Gann or Blackbeard's Ghost. I don't understand why these DVD titles can't be released commercially if the transfer is already in existence.
The "Disney Educational Series" is not a themed collector's set of educational shorts, like we think of the "Legacy Collection" or the "Walt Disney Treasures."
It is a catalog of titles from Disney Educational Productions that offers DVDs/VHS tapes for sale (and rental?) to schools. Genres include Bill Nye the Science Guy, various titles about American legends, language arts, health, "Mickey's Field Trip Series, True Life Adventures, and movies based on literary books like "Johnny Tremain," "Sounder," and "The Chronicles of Narnia."
I don't understand why the titles I mentioned on my earlier post haven't been released commercially since their DVD formats have already been produced.

Regarding Wave 8, how can the release of "Destino" and "Dr. Syn" be considered lazy or a half-hearted effort on the part of Disney?
I thought (I'm not 100% sure, but I THOUGHT) that along with the news last year that the Treasure line would indeed be resurrected with Wave 7, the comment was such that the "Legacy" line was a poor performer whose plug was pulled by Disney. Did I read this on UD, or am I remembering incorrectly? Why else would "Oswald" and "Secrets" be switched over to the Treasures?
So.... if efforts were made to produce "Destino" on DVD, and these other two sister titles [Legacy Wave 2] made it to store shelves, then why WOULDN'T Disney go ahead and treat it the same way?
And regarding the release of "Dr. Syn," I remember a few years ago, an individual name Tom Hering had an EXCELLENT Dr. Syn (Primarily Disney) fan site whose content also included news/progress on Disney's scarecrow restoration efforts, including leads from an inside source. I recall a news post that mentioned there was a portion, or portions, of the live-action production that Disney was trying to locate better quality materials.
So, what's so disappointing about the fact that "Dr. Syn" will be a Treasures volume? Look, all of the pieces have finally come together: a restored product AND an interview with Patrick McGoohan.
And, let me tell you.... I think MANY people will be seeking the "Dr. Syn" Treasure out. You've seen how high the VHS title goes for on eBay and Half.com, haven't you?!
This time around, I may pre-order my Treasures for in-store pick-up at Best Buy, to make sure I get them!
>>>>> Again, THANK YOU, DISNEY, for these Treasure titles!!
