The number of nominees in a given category was determined by the number of nominations submitted for that category, so that each category came as close to the preferred number of 5 nominees per category as possible (in the event that either 4 or 6-7 had to be chosen, more significant categories were granted a larger number of nominees). In the event that either 2 or 7+ nominees had to be chosen, only 2 were selected. In the even that either 1 or 8+ nominees had to be chosen, the 1 was nominated and a random number generator was employed to randomly select 4 of the remaining 8+ contenders for a grand total of 5 nominees for that category. Results of either one or zero nominees were avoided wherever possible. Ineligible nominations were disqualified in accordance with the nomination rules.
