Well, I don't know if this has been posted yet or not, but if you are a member of the Disney Movie Rewards, there is a short 101 Dalmatians to "see how Disney artists created all those puppies!" under Member Benefits.

DVDTown also has its review up:

So we get 53 minutes of video content under the "backstage Disney" section minus the 7 trailers. 34 minutes of deleted songs, 7 image galleries plus the two trivia track options. So all in all it's about 2 hours and 5 minutes of worthwhile content (except for the trivia tracks which run 79 minutes each) and some galleries. That's fine though I wonder could there have been more (a Walt Disney Presents episode perhaps?)

I seriously don't think this is enough.

TWO featurettes????????

TWO?

And like 5 stupid games.

A weak platinum, IMO.

Once again, Disney cheats us out of decent features.

i am such a platinum purist and i have high standards and this dvd isnt good enough. this edition is very weak compared to previous PEs. i wish Disney would put more effort into their dvds like Snow White (when DVDs were fairly recent technology)
even if they included the amount of content that Lady and the Tramp's PE release received id be extremely happy, but i suppose they can't be bothered with decent dvds anymore.

I really hate it when they include games. I want behind the scenes stuff.

All I care about is the transfer quality/audio quality

I just want my Disney Animaed Classics to look and sound the best they can be - screw the bonus features. I love the platinum line (besides little mermaid) they really go all out on the transfer.

How is it? Slick and clean like Cinderella? I know some of you purist hated that transfer, but it was amazing.

I watched the film a few hours ago, and the transfer looks really nice. Granted, I don't have a fancy TV, but it looked great. And, the bonus features had some quality information in them- they were very interesting and educational- I learned some things that I didn't know before.

Awesome, that is what I love most about the Platinum Editions. I always learn so much from them, and I am looking forward to seeing what the 101 Dalmatians: Platinum Edition teaches me about the films. I can't wait to pick it up and watch the film and all the great bonus features.

Well, I'll be going to Best Buy, not so much for the incentive, but because it's the only place near me. Times like that I wish Target were easier to get to.

I pre-ordered mine from the Disney store because I wanted the lithographs. I also got 15% off my next purchase, but that will probably expire anyway since I don't usually shop at the Disney Store.

Do you get the lithographs if you order on the Disney Store website?

Well as most of you know, this film is the reason I love Disney. When I first started collecting Disney DVD’s, beginning with the Snow White PE, I had no clue that Disney was planning on continuing this “platinum collection”. Then in 2003 my second favorite Disney film Sleeping Beauty came to DVD. I now had Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and Sleeping Beauty. I thought to myself, Disney has to have plans for a new release 101 Dalmatians. So I turned to the internet and I found this wonderful site, Ultimatedisney.com. It had everything I was looking for! I learned about the Platinum Editions and the infamous Disney Vault. To my displeasure I found out that 101 Dalmatians was scheduled for release in 2010. Well, that was way too long of a wait, but I decided the wait would be worth it. I was also pleased to know that while I waited for the release of my favorite film I could look forward to releases of Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, etc. On the day Sleeping Beauty was released in 2003, I began my 101 Dalmatians countdown. I swear to you that not a day has gone by where I was not thinking of the 101 Dalmatians PE release.

The film got me obsessed with Disney. At the age of two I fell in love with Cruella De Vil, I literally became obsessed with her. She started my Disney madness. Several years later I discovered that Sleeping Beauty was not a scary film, but rather Maleficent was super cool and Aurora was my dream girl. I threw 101 Dalmatians aside and focused my attention to the beautiful, blonde Princess Aurora. I never forgot about my favorite film, and in 1996 I saw a commercial with a “real” Cruella, Glen Close. Well it was goodbye to Aurora and hello to Cruella. My love affair with the crazy villainess started again. As time went on, 101 Dalmatians and Sleeping Beauty truly changed my life. They’re my two favorite films of all time, and as time went on I learned to appreciate them more and more. My countdown officially ended on Saturday March 1, 2008 when my mom woke me up with a copy of 101 Dalmatians. She knew how long I’ve been waiting, and had gone into rite aid that morning where she saw it on the shelf and knew she had to purchase it. Because I was so excited for this release I decked out my web site for 101 Dalmatians. You can find some great downloads and clips there, the link is in my siggy. The DVD consumed all my time this weekend, and here is my review:

I literally watched the film about 60 times this weekend. The picture and soundtrack are crisp and pristine. The colors were amazing. It was like watching the film for the first time. I also compared the DVD to the 1999 LI Disc- what a difference! On Thursday I’ll post some screen caps so you can see what I mean. This presentation of the film is simply amazing. The menus on disc one were very cute. I love how they mimicked the films opening credits. The pop-up trivia facts were also informative, but should have been combined into one. There is no reason there had to be two separate pop-up viewing options. The film also began with a Smoking Warning commercial. It depicted Cruella smoking, and an announcement about how bad smoking was. What a world we live in!! Cartoon characters can’t even smoke. It really makes me sick to think that I live in a world where people push these issues! Luckily Cruella’s smoking scenes were not edited.

The Selena Gomez music video, as I stated earlier in this thread, was cute. I liked her take on the song. I thought it was better than any of the Disneymania covers. It was also interesting to see a “live” Cruella appear. I just think that having the video set at a Fashion Show would have better suited for the Live-Action film. Hopefully the two Live Action films will be released soon.

Disc 2, had allot of content, but I was disappointed with the graphics. The first menu was so blah, and so were the sub-menus. The CGI puppy was very stiff, Disney could have done much better, I mean it’s 2008! The content on Disc 2 was great. I was very happy to see a packed platinum, especially after the disappointing release of Peter Pan. I was shocked to see so many trailers and radio spots! It reminded me of the Snow White DVD. The making of feature was very informative. Although it was short, they packed allot of information into it. ‘Cruella De Vil: Drawn to be Bad” was my favorite feature. It was a seven minute tribute to the villainess. The other feature about Dodie Smith and Walt Disney was very interesting to watch. I loved how they recreated it with the actors. The art galleries were very interesting to look out. I loved seeing the character progress, and the live-action reference photos. All in all the entire DVD was a pretty packed release. If anyone wants screen caps or more information don’t hesitate to ask, I’d be happy to help.

Thanks for sharing your story, Disney Villain! I am always interested in finding out what causes people to have such passion towards the things they enjoy. I like finding out what makes people tick, so to speak, so, I really enjoyed your story! Lucky you, that you have had the entire weekend with the DVD! I can't wait to pick it up. I am looking forward to seeing the film, again. I have the Limited Issue, but, I haven't watched it in a long while, in anticipation of the Platinum Edition. It's good to hear that it's a good release. I really wish that Disney would go back to doing the Platinum Edition releases the way they started, with Snow White. They started out very strong, and have had hits and misses, since then.

I'm anxiously awaiting the release on Tuesday!

Well I wouldn't call it a "packed" release. :?

While I do applaude Disney presenting a A-1 restoration, I cannot help but be disappointed by the DVD. I have my UK release and have given it a quick (superquick) glance, but I'm not impressed with the supplements.

There is nothing on Disc 1 apart from a music video and fact pop-ups. Wouldn't this be a perfect opportunity to present the film in Full Frame and Matted Widescreen?

Considering the even the non-platinum Sleeping Beauty did so it seems like a waste now that Disney seem intent on matting all their other 60s and 70s films.

So the first disc is a disappointment - surely they could have put the virtual puppies or moved the song demos onto disc 1 to free up more space on the second disc? Moving the song demos would also make more sense, as they could go with the so-called music video. And while I understand that the pop-up facts do to a certain extent replace a commentary, the lack of a commentary makes the movie disc seem especially empty.

The second disc again seems lacking. Yes, Bravo for the dig into the vaults for the trailers and song demos, but the making of does seem short. It may be informative, but I can't help but feel a lot more than 30 odd minutes could be said about the film.

I find it frustrating because this time it does seem that Disney has tried, after the lacklusture Peter Pan debarcle and this release seems a bit more together than the Jungle Book's. But I still look back at Disney's two disc DVD releases of the past - be that "Platinum" or not - and feel doesn't really have their heart in replicating their quality and value anymore.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
