P.S. Luke can change the thread title, etc... to something better if you wish.
This is supposedly the last volume and is supposed to be the rest of the Donald shorts. But I am sure there are people here that are more informed as to what is missing after we see what the contents of Vol. 4 are.Widdi wrote:Cool news.
Obviously last years treasures sold well enough for the line to continue, which is great news to those who collect them (I don't, with the exception of Donald Duck sets, which every time I buy, manage to get lost or destroyed)
I'm no experts on shorts, but how many Donald sets will it take to get them all out?
I would suggest the solution would be to include the film, plus the TV intros/outtros and cliff hangers as excerpts (sorry!slave2moonlight wrote:I also agree that it's pointless to get the feature version of Dr. Syn, UNLESS there was some footage in that which wasn't on the TV version, but I doubt it. That space could have been used for more Swamp Fox!
That will complete the Donald shorts - no more were made after 1961. The last ones which were made, were Donald educational shorts (How to Have an Accident in the Home; 1956, How to Have an Accident at Work; 1959 and Donald and the Wheel; 1961) which will be interesting to see. With no more popular animated shorts series left, I suspect that this wave will be the last.Widdi wrote:Cool news.

I'm not sure that the survival of the Treasures collection, or at least, whether or not we get one or two more waves, is entirely dependent on popular animated shorts series. Afterall, they did a wave under the Legacy Collection label that was entirely True Life Adventures. And, even if it is dependent on popular shorts, I think they might go for one more wave to include another set of rarities for Jiminy Cricket's stuff, Scrooge McDuck and Money, Pooh Discovers the Seasons, the What Should I Do series, and various other as yet unreleased shorts. Plus, there is a ton of live-action stuff they could still release. They might see this format as the best way to release Disneyland programs, though it probably would be even better to start a new line called "Disneyland" or the Best of Disneyland, or Walt Disney Presents, or something like that if they are down to just episodes of the anthology series.vanmunchen wrote:With no more popular animated shorts series left, I suspect that this wave will be the last.
I think Scrooge would probably be more logical as a bonus for Donald 4 and Jiminy Cricket's stuff would probably (and should) be included as bonuses for the upcoming Pinocchio PE (especially since they included some of those on the overseas Pinocchio DVD).slave2moonlight wrote:I'm not sure that the survival of the Treasures collection, or at least, whether or not we get one or two more waves, is entirely dependent on popular animated shorts series.
