Wall-E - Pixar's next film (after Ratatouille)
Great trailer. Just from those couple minutes, I'm endeared with this character. Okay, so I loved him ever since the first promo still came out, but now that I see how he reacts to mundane things from our generation (the bra bit is priceless), I'm even more in love with him. Having the first third of the film be dialogue-free is a risky move, but if this trailer (or teaser #2, really) is any indication, those first 20 minutes or so are going to fly by.

Well I am very much looking forward to this, and from the new trailer I hope it lives up to it's promise of being different from the average Pixar film. If truth be told I'm still very concerned of the E.T. similarity, initially it was just in sound and design, but seing how he reacts to the things around him with a playful, inquisitve way, resulting in mishap does worry me, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. Who knows what will happen once that rocket takes off.

Does anyone happen to know the source of the music used in the Wall-E trailers to date?
I heard the same exact music used in the trailer for "Bee Movie" when I watched "Shrek The Third" on DVD over the weekend.
I've worked in TV/radio production and am aware of how royalty-free stock music is frequently used in production, but it just doesn't seem like that expected high standard for Disney/Pixar to resort to something like that for a Pixar film trailer.

Wow. There's a slap in the face for the incredible CGI production on the Transformers movie.akhenaten wrote:beautiful ....he's so anthropomorphic n expressive! unlike other robot incarnations we've seen bfr.

It's "Central Services/The Office" from the soundtrack for Brazil composed by Michael Kamen. FYI, Michael Kamen was going to compose the soundtrack to The Incredibles but passed away before he got to write/compose anything.Voiceroy wrote:Does anyone happen to know the source of the music used in the Wall-E trailers to date?

Thanks. I thought it sounded familiar, but I haven't seen Brazil in ages.Timon/Pumbaa fan wrote: It's "Central Services/The Office" from the soundtrack for Brazil composed by Michael Kamen. I did not know that bit of trivia about Kamen. What a loss. The Incredibles score was great, but I would've loved to have heard what Kamen would've done with it. His score for "The Iron Giant" is one of my all-time favorite animated orchestral scores.

You surely missed something. Pixar was bought by Disney, and the creative team of Pixar has taken over Disney (John Lasseter is now chief creative officer of all Disney animation). Lasseter is also the reason 2D animation has been brought back.DalmatianFan85 wrote:You know, I find it kind of weird that they're doing this. I thought that after Disney and Pixar made "Cars", Pixar was no longer going to make movies for Disney anymore, but surprisingly, they did "Ratatouille" and now "Wall-E". I guess what I've been hearing were all just rumours.

It looks like it's probably going to be like one of those cutesy live action movies from the 80's like E.T. or The Navigator or something like that.Okie Tigger wrote:We're pretty far along now. Is there an official synopsis somewhere? I don't want to read the spoiler-filled Jim Hill piece but I'd like to know a little more about the story.

I'm really excited for this film too. If you watch the disney previews for it on like Snow Buddies, it says that this is the last of the infamous movies that were created at a table in one day with several great producers. The others created that day were Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc, and another that I can't remember. It should be a great movie though!
