Most wanted movies

Post by 2099net »

Out of all the upcoming movies, either in production or rumoured, what are the ones you're looking forward to the most? Here's mine in no particular order:

The League Of Gentlemen Movie
(Not the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) but a movie based on the BBC TV series (although information is the bulk of the movie will be set outside of Roysten Vasey, and most of the films characters will be new creations). Rumoured to have a Ray Harryhausen stop-motion sequence and a part written for and played by Christopher Lee! Somehow, I expect Papa Lazaru will play a large part in the plot too...

Shawn of the Dead Trailer
Written and starring Simon Pegg from UK TV's Spaced and co-starring Nick Frost (from Spaced), plus a horde of cameos. I'm telling you... this will be massive!

Silent Hill
Not sure on the status of the Silent Hill movie, but it is still supposed to be going ahead. It's likely to be a re-telling of the first game, but I hope they go for SH2 as a starting point (because it's fantastic and would make a wonderful movie in the style of The Ring).

Alien vs Predator Teaser
Well, I know it will most likely be pants, but I can't resist a crossover.

Hellboy Teaser
Perhaps that should be heckboy on a Disney site! It's a comic adaptation, it has Nazi zombies. What more do you want?

and I hate to admit it, but I'm looking forward to
Scooby Doo 2 Trailer
even though some aspects of what I've seen make me want to hurt somebody at Warner Bros real bad! When it comes down to it, they've done a good job of recreating some of the "classic" monsters from the original series, and that's enough to make me want to see it (but it could have been so much better).
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Well this movie isn't rumoured, or in production, its actually coming out this week ... but I thought I'd mention it anyway that I want to check out The Passion of the Christ when it is released here (and I think everywhere) this Wednesday to coincide with Ash Wednesday. It looks set to become an epic or some sort and I want to see what all the fuss is about (actually, I think we all know what the fuss is about, I just want to see if the fuss exists in the first place :P )

Yes, The Passion of the Christ is what I'm most looking forward to. Based on the trailers, tv spots, and clips I've seen, this looks so be the most powerful, realistic, yet artistic Jesus film ever created. I honestly can't wait any longer for this.

Other films I'm looking forward to:

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban: Book three is where the series really grew legs and ran and is the start of the series' over all real plot. Alfonso seems to be doing an excellent job mingling a faithful adaptation with lots of artistic liscense. If Chris Columbus managed to make the two weakest books into great films, I can't wait to see what a brilliant director like Alfonso will do with the book that many fans consider to be the best in the series.

Spider-Man 2: I absolutely loved the original as did most people, and I love how this one seems to have a darker edge to it. Plus, Doc Ock's a much cooler villain than the Green Goblin, so this one should be more thrilling to watch.

The Incredibles: It's a Pixar film. Enough said.

The Polar Express: We used to read this book aloud in class every Christmas when I was in elementary school, and I remember loving it immensely. Based on the teaser, this film seems (cliche alert) truly magical and I know it'll be a great way to escape the world for an hour and a half.

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe: After the Harry Potter and Alice books, the Chronicles of Narnia is my favorite book series, with Wardrobe being the absolute highlight for me. I've always loved the BBC tv film and the animated one, but finally Narnia will be realized with the type of production value and scope that Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings both have. HUGE hopes for this one.

The Passion seems like a film from the golden age of movies like Ben-Hur and The Ten Comandments. The only problem is that I'm sure that all of the fuss about it will cause something to happen.

I can't wait for there to be an x-men 3

I can't wait for Spider-Man 2. Who doesn't like Spider-Man?

I can't wait for the up coming Batman 5, Superman 6 and Fantastic Four.

I also can't wait for The Punisher and Home on the Range.

I also enjoyed the preview of Hellboy will watch that one.

The movie that will rock this summer will be Van Helsing.

Well, many of my most-anticipated have been mentioned:

Spider-man 2: Because the first one was pretty good, with a few cringe-worthy moments, that you excuse because you are such a big fan boy (or girl). I think the sequel looks pretty cool, and Doc Ock is one of my favourite villains. Kirsten Dunst is a goddess.

Related anitcipated movies: new Batman; Punisher; Hellboy , and Preacher (if anything ever happens with it). And I don't know if it would work but Ghost Rider has me curious.

Home on the Range: Cow + Disney. 'Nuff said.

Alien vs Predator: It could go either way, but hey - I'm a sucker for both franchises.

The League Of Gentlemen Movie: 2099net got me into this, now I'm obsessed. See my avatar.

Dawn of the Dead (remake): It could suck ass, but the original is one of my favourite movies ever. This looks sufficiently different enough, but still keeping with the major themes of the Romero version.

The Passion of the Christ looks quite interesting, but despite the techniques and ancient languages used, I can't help but feel we've seen it all before.

Actually, there was another one I saw a trailer for on the Lost in Translation DVD (current fave film) called Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

It is written by Charlie Kaufman (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, Human Nature) and directed by Michel Gondry (who also directed Human Nature and countless music videos, such as the White Stripes 'Fell in Love With a Girl'/lego video).

It stars Jim Carrey & Kate Winslet, and involves a guy who has art of his memory erased. Looks fun.

And this was included to make my choices more "indy".

There is going to be ANOTHER one?

Let me guess - a THIRD backup island - that nobody else knew about - and everybody goes back there for some strange reason, with hilarious results?

I don't know the details, except that there is definitely going to be a 4th. And the buzz is that the script is the best yet, who knows. I, for one, have liked them all thus far.

Add Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and the Order of the Phoenix to list, you know they're getting made.
