Haven't heard anything at the moment, but I don't think it is near enough to Hong Kong at the moment. Taiwan through Shanghai seems to be getting the brunt of it...then off to Korea apparently!

It's been a week since the last weekly column - spooky, isn't it? "Spooky" is the key word this week as Hong Kong Disneyland's Halloween festivities kick off and dovetail with the Mid-Autumn festival. So pull up a mooncake as we unleash a new section and journey through the events of This Week in Hong Kong Disneyland.

Oh, and just to respond to that earlier query, a Typhoon No. 1 signal has been hoisted for September 25 in the park, which is coincidentally the day the Halloween celebrations kick off. This level is more of a thunderstorm than anything else though. It is kind of a "maybe, there might be something kinda" warning.

Heading straight for you like a fish with an agenda, we've got news to spare this week. While we consider making protests a regular Disney feature at the park, we cast our gaze ahead to the Christmas events and the unstoppable force that is 'High School Musical' as it heads to Hong Kong Disneyland in early 2008. Plus you know there is something about Halloween. It's all happening This Week in Hong Kong Disneyland.

It's a Halloween Special! Well, not really, but it is spooky just how much we can talk about nothing. It might be a slower week, but we bid farewell to the Halloween season; look ahead to the Christmas season and have a fairly extensive list of closures and refurbishments for the month of November. This week in Hong Kong Disneyland, it looks like the Resort finally has a little more room to splash about in, with restrictions lifted on their loan conditions, and a government that seems more willing to prop up the park.

Your website isn't loading for me, Loomis (and now the pictures on here that you posted aren't showing on my computer), but are the "ice sculptures" (that's what they look like) always at HKDL, or are they just there for the holidays? They look pretty!

We have a very special poem from our Chief Spy, which is part trip-report and part present to her daughter; we discuss the reaction to the four new attractions announced this week and we generally fill ourselves with the Christmas spirit.

It's the final countdown! New Year's Eve is here and 2008 is just about upon us, so we tip out hat to 2007 and celebrate everything that has been. Not to get too nostalgic, we look at some of the preparations for the NYE celebrations tonight; look ahead to the Chinese New Year 2008 festivities and that new promo ad they are screening and fortify ourselves for the huge amounts of wine we are about to consume.
