I agree.
Me:
It was very well-made. But, I didn't like the music score. It was quite long, and very boring. It didn't even start to get good until near the end when the twist ending (which wasn't very good at all) put things into perspective. And suddenly what was confusing and close to being pointless before became unfair and felt like cheating. I'll give the movie credit where it's due. But other than production values, this is a disappointing movie. Hope it gets better on future viewings. But I doubt that'll happen. Can't recommend it.
First time to see this 80's classic all the way through in probably over a decade. DAMN GOOD MOVIE. A great re-watch (courtesy of Comcast on-Demand. Sometimes, they get a few classics among their free movie selection)
(Zero Stars / F)
There are no words to describe how awful this "thing" is. Anyone who says this movie is anything other than crap is a complete and total retard. Please, for the love of God and all that is considered holy, tell me this is as bad as it gets for New Millennium Comedy. Because if it isn't, Mainstream "Comedic" Cinema is destroyed. For good.

Well perhaps I'm too generous but the appearances of Fred Willard, Darrell Hammond, Kevin McDonald, and Jennifer Coolidge bring it up to at least a ..... half star. God, what a bad 'film'!
These are both two wonderful musicals and without either of these (especially TPOTO) I would not like musicals. So, they both get a big 5 out of 4 stars.
Around the World in 80 Days (1956) Amazing! SO much fun! I know I've probably said that this film was crap before on this site, but I must have been high the first time I watched it because I LOVE it today!
i went and saw the eye last night. it was pretty good but not my kind of horror. only a couple of 'scary' parts and even though were just jumpy. 3 1/2 out of 5 stars

Steel Magnolias - What a great film this turned out to be. There isn't one actor in this film that didn't do a good job with their role. And I'm not going to lie, I cried like a baby during Sally Field's post-funeral breakdown. That was sad stuff, right there! What a tear-jerker!
Pretty Woman - I'm going to start off by saying that Richard Gere sucked. Forgive me, but that man can't act to save his life. But other than that gray-haired freak, I enjoyed the film as a whole. It was extremely well-written and definitely had it's moments.
Over Her Dead Body - I went into this one with low expectations, and pretty much only saw it because of Paul Rudd. However, it surprisingly turned out to be a decent film! It wasn't a masterpiece by any means, but it was still a fun film that doesn't require you to think much. I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the DVD release.
Charlie Wilson's War
Pretty good movie which is highly entertaining, something not many movies with a politics story can achieve. The acting is great (Hoffman, go get your 2ndOscar!) and the cast works well together.
It's an interesting subject considering that once again a war is going on in Afghanistan and to see that this is a comedy and not some political drama, makes it even more interesting and entertaining.
PeterPanfan wrote:The Prince and the Pauper: A Modern Twain Story-Ehh, ok. Dylan and Cole are weak actors, but Kay Panabaker saved it for the ten minutes she was in it.
Are you serious that she's only in it for 10 minutes? I adore Kay and I wish they'd stop putting her with those Sprause (sp?) brothers. Saw this in stores the other day and decided I would have to pick it up (eventually) though, because I love the Panabaker sisters.
The Last Picture Show (1971). One word, AWFUL! The only thing this film had was scene after scene of unappealing sex. Boring beyond belief for a film the was nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award and made AFI's 100 movies list.

Yes, it's true unfortunatly. I also love Kay and Danielle! Kay is in the featurette more than the actual movie..
Splash is awesome, but I wish they would remake it with Jayma Mays (the redhead who is the one reason I have to watch the awful Epic Movie whenever I come across it), ha. No, Splash doesn't really need a remake, but I just never found Daryl Hannah very attractive.
As for me, just came from my friends' place that I go to every weekend (almost) to watch movies. We saw "Fido" there, and it was awesome! Can't wait to get it myself! I was also surprised at how well done the whole thing was. Was expecting something more low budget. But, many, it's getting harder and harder for me to distinguish Billy Connolly (who played the title zombie character) from John Cleese for some reason!
