What's Wrong with My Pinocchio Limited Issue?

Post by triwit »

I need help, please anyone who has 'Pinocchio Limited Issue' with you, can you check it for me?

I have bought this DVD second-handed two - three years ago to fill my collection but did not play it right away since the disc is in so good condition and I trust the one who sold it to me.

These are some pics of it.

From any point of view, I think this is a genuine copy of Pinocchio Limited Issue. All paper works, cover and two inserts are real. The disc is packed in white genuine Amaray case. The disc is in pale champagne gold color with coded 'IFPI L127' on both layers.

The problem is when I play the disc it shows Prince of Egypt instead of Pinocchio. I don't really know how can it be.

Did it happen before?

I live in Thailand so I hope my English is OK.

Thank you in advance for your comment.

I had bought "Pinocchio" on DVD last year, but returned it because I thought that it was a bootleg (it started playing the movie in what I thought was French...).

So, not having the movie aside, if it plays "The Prince of Egypt", which isn't even a Disney film, it obviously is a bootleg. That really stinks that you waited so long to check it out, since you can't get your money back now. :(

HOLD ONTO THAT DISC!!!!

That is NO bootleg. The duplicator for both films mixed up the discs and a batch of Pinocchio's were released with Price of Egypt and vice versa. The error was quickly discovered and the discs were recalled. You got one that got away. I've never met anyone who had the error disc. I'd wager that to someone that disc is worth a pretty penny. But this is the real story behind your disc. You can look it up online too if you wish.

WOAH! I heard of video game bootlegs, but a bootleg can suck even more on a DVD. Ironically, I never looked up online about the recallings of 1999 Pinocchio Limited Issue DVD. I'll do that right now. Do any other users have a DVD or a VHS that had a bootleg and went to the wrong tape or DVD disc and then, they recalled those 2?

There was an early batch of Netflix rental DVDs for Doctor Who: Series Two which, about a half-hour into the episode, would play Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning instead of New Earth. It's obviously been recalled.

Thank you so much UncleEd for your comment. I will keep this DVD and looking for any report about this thing.

Hope it is good for me to keep (or to make some money in the future :D ).

Or how bout this, if there was an error for the "Thief & The Cobbler" 2006 TWC DVD print, I would go nuts. I don't have a copy of it, but I'll tell you what'll happen. If you get it and you play the DVD, the film is actually "Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story," and then the DVD was recalled. I know it's not real, it's my imagination.

What about a batch of DVDs for 'The Passion of the Christ' that end up playing 'Monty Python's Life of Brian' instead? Again, not true, but a somewhat irresistible idea.

Or how 'bout this, a DVD of "Jurrasic Park III," but ended up with the Season 1 DVD Disc 2 of "American Dad." And then, the DVD was recalled.

Imagination of mine: Or how 'bout a DVD of "Garfield: The Movie," but ended up with the DVD of "Reno 911: Miami" and the DVD was recalled.

This really has little to do with the discussion, and you just made a double post.
