The one with the dark clouds is my favorite. I kind of have a problem with the contrast between the dark backdrop and the overly bright colors of Aurora and Phillip. Anyway, the one with the spinning wheel is nice but it's not really there. Something's missing. The other two are weak.

I'm sure I read SOMEWHERE in this thread that there is a larger image/are larger images (of the French Sleeping Beauty DVD covers ) in an International DVD thread - which one please?

From the first appearence of the covers, at the bottom of page 13, did you mean this?:

I did find these, maybe they will be helpful:

And I don't know if we thanked you enough, that was a tremendous find!!! I haven't seen these anywhere else, I haven't checked many other forums, but I bet it's only Disney Central Plaza, the voters, and us who know about them! I might never have known all the possible ways the cover could have been, or seen all that great new art! UltimateDisney is the best as always.

I wish we could find that poll and vote, but it is for the French cover, and the French people, and it might not even have an effect on our US cover. I wonder if the poll's over already.

Sleeping Bu-ray

Post by Disney Duster »

I decided to fool around with the images we've found and make my own U.S. cover:
Image
You like it? I like how I have Aurora in blue but there's a swish of pink fairy dust ready to change that. I can't decide if I like a gold or silver Platinum banner with the purple, but I think gold fits more because it matches the gold crown and sheild and it just fits the movie more because it uses gold a lot and it's very medieval.

But I found this site that has a presentation in Japan or China showing the re-arranged Special Edition cover. I still think it's not final.

Great job with the cover Duster. I like how you included the mock price and made Aurora's dress blue. The pink swirl is a good idea because it implies the dress is seen in the movie (if only for brief moments) as pink but the dominant colour in the movie is still on the cover.

I would change the castle so it blends with the background more and maybe try to incorporate the dragon design from the third and 5th covers, but those would be the only things I'd change.

Also, the gold banner works well because it's yellowish and yellow and purple are complimentary colours. But silver would be fine too.

I'd say it'll be a while before we see finalized cover art. Probably late July/early August.

Nice cover Disney Duster :D but the cover most of us disliked will be the final cover, they showed the Narnia and Finding Nemo Blu-ray cover which means that this is defintly the final cover.

Where?? Are you part of the movie industry? I'd love to see the officicial press preview but no doubt that will be in Los Angeles and here I am in Bradford , West Yorkshire , England!!

I'm really interested in what Disney will do with Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs - both in terms of cover art high def transfer/remastering and what extra features!

In 1988 I went to the Disney Studios with Brian Sibley - a writer friend who was delivering a draft screenplay - and I actually went to meet Dave Smith in the Disney Archives!! A fan's dream!!

He was a very kind delightful man who showed me - Snow White's # 1 fan (!!) - the original storyboards for Snow White - and the original Pencil Test animation for Boil Cauldron Boil the scene where the Queen/Witch stirs the magic brew in the cauldron - this sequence was in the Laserdisc version of Snow White but not in the last DVD version

Actually, I think I saw something that fits this discription at my local Wal-Mart about a month ago.
