I can't decide between "So This is Love", "Once Upon a Dream" and "Bella Notte". All three are just so lovely and dream like and perfect I can't choose.
As scenes in movies I guess "So This is Love" would win because it has the blurred, soft and "moody" Palace locations (that bridge is particularly something) plus Ilene Woods and Mike Douglas just sound great together.
"Once Upon a Dream" is more lighthearted at first and then becomes sweeping and romantic. I actually like the End Title version better with the choir and Aurora and Phillip dancing in the clouds. But it must be made clear that Bill Shirley sings the song earlier and his voice is just something else. (You can also hear him sing for Freddy in the movie version of My Fair Lady.
"Bella Notte" starts out o.k. but then goes into the choir arrangement that makes the song so great, and like Cinderella, has "moody' atmospheric art work to go with the song. But that's only the end so I shouldn't be considering this tune.
I guess "So This Is Love" wins out because it is, simple, lovely and is sweepingly romantic from start to finish, instead of building up to something like the other two I mentioned.

Such a hard decision!
Before 2005, I would have easily said "Bella Notte" and "So This Is Love", as I absolutely loved those two songs. But once I finally heard "If I Never Knew You" integrated into Pocahontas as it should have been, I decided that would be my favorite romantic song. But I still can't forget the other two, so it's become a three-way tie.
However, at the same time I find them all in conflict with "The Second Star to the Right", as it's probably my all-time favorite Disney song ever, and its lyrics do have a "romantic song" quality to them.
I'm torn.

All of the songs listed have something special to offer for everyone. My two favorites of the list are "If I Never Knew You" from Pocahontas, with the title song from Beauty and the Beast coming in second. I think the version with Judy Khun makes me cry now, since I bought the DVD.
I would've put "Other", and chose "So Close" from Enchanted. I cry when I hear that, no matter what.
