I'm thinking in the future, they could bring the Disney Channel back to how it was way back when when the channel was built around Disney Characters.
All the shows they have on now, just has nothing to do with Disney (except Lilo and Stitch, Buzz Lightyear, Timon and Pumbaa, Little Mermaid, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, My Friends Tigger & Pooh and Emperor's New School).
So I was thinking they should make a channel called "Teen Disney" for all the shows and movies that play on Disney Channel now, so the original Disney Channel can go back to the way it was. For the movies to play, have them play the classic Disney live action and animated films.
Who else agrees?

I've loved the Disney Channel since I was a little girl. I've always watched pretty much everything on it...from preschool shows (even now) to live-action shows, to cartoons. I definitely think that there should be a Vault Disney Channel, and a separate Playhouse Disney Channel would be nice, too. The "teen" shows are my favorites on the channel, and they have been for years.
Disney Channel does show Disney animated films once in a while (when they do play an animated film, it's often a Pooh film, but I believe that "The Aristocats" was recently on there).
I think that Disney would be more likely to leave Disney Channel the way it is, with preschool shows, then cartoons, then "teen" shows playing throughout the day, and add a Vault Disney Channel and/or a Playhouse Disney Channel.

Join the complainers! I am one of them.......
If Toon Disney hadn't gotten HIJACKED by Jetix, and then if it could be moved to regular basic, rather than digital, then the cartoons could be shown there, Disney Channel could start airing more of the movies it hardly ever airs (When was the last time TOY STORY aired? Or A Bugs Life? Isn't it about time for The Incredibles or CARS to premiere? (Incredibles premiered on ABC Family around Christmas Time) Or are they too LONG for Disney to air............ They air Harry Potter, Shark Boy & Lava Girl, and the Spy Kids movies (well, the 2nd & 3rd) for gosh sakes......and those are WB and Dimension Films respectively.
Disney needs to open the vaults and air DISNEY movies that need a new generation of kids to watch their classic films.
I made my 8 year old niece watch my DVD of "Escape to Witch Mountain" the last time I visited.
Back when Disney Channel was cool, I didn't have the channel.......I could only watch it during either A) Free Preview week or B) when I visited my maternal grandmother.

Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

I saw the commercial today for "The Incredibles" on Disney Channel, but I don't remember when it said it'd be on.jediliz wrote: Isn't it about time for The Incredibles or CARS to premiere?
I agree about Jetix- "Power Rangers" just doesn't belong on Toon Disney. Granted, I'd rather it be on Toon Disney than on the regular Disney Channel...it just doesn't belong- it's not even a toon!!!
I guess another issue (that jediliz raised) is how Disney Channel and Toon Disney air non-Disney properties. They just don't belong. Disney loves their money, though, so if people are willing to pay Disney good money to air their programming, then Disney will take the money and air the programming, even if it doesn't belong. Maybe we all should complain...
