I'm very surprised to see this. I can't imagine anyone losing their excitement over this game. However, as thatartguy mentioned, once you get your hands on the game, I believe that you will live and breathe it!DarthPrime wrote:My excitement for this title has went down as well. The one thing keeping me excited about this is online play. Thats really it.I Love Bambi wrote:Hmm, I may or may not get this one. It looks very similar to Melee, except for the new character set. And I really don't see what the big deal is about Solid Snake, he just looks like a soldier from one of those shooter games. Never been a Sonic fan either.
At least I'll finally have something to play on the Wii again. Its been collecting dust for awhile now (since Galaxy).
It's official! Get ready to BRAWL online! Super Smash Bros.!

Yeah surprisingly I'm still not as excited about it as I once was. Like I said before the online play is a big plus for me, so I really hope its good. I have started to play Melee on the Gamecube (I'm probably one of the few people that still uses a Gamecube for Gamecube games instead of the Wii.) again to prepare for Brawl.
I'm sure if the online play is good it will be a game that I play for a long time.
Anyway about a month away before the release.

That would take even longer....Loomis wrote: Would it be easier to just announce characters NOT appearing in Brawl?
When has Bowser, Wario, Meta Knight, Snake, DK, Captian Falcon, Ganondorf etc been consider cute? LOLLoomis wrote:Very much looking forward to this. Combines two of my favourite things: crossovers and beating the living snot out of cute characters.
You do realize you can play gamecube games and use gamecube controller on the Wii, right?DarthPrime wrote: (I'm probably one of the few people that still uses a Gamecube for Gamecube games instead of the Wii.)
Online not only thing that'll be great, it has create your own fricken stage mode, play adventure mode with a friend, music jukebox, etc. It's going be a blast!DarthPrime wrote:I'm sure if the online play is good it will be a game that I play for a long time.
.
Oh for anyone who didn't check up dates yet, Olimar & Pikmins are confirmed characters and Snake's FS been revealed.
According to Brawl Central in a magazine in Coro Coro, Zelda's FS is Light's Arrow which is an unstoppable holy bow and arrow. It's very powerful.

Yeah I know you can play Gamecube games on the Wii. I've done that once... My Gamecube is still hooked up, so I still use it. Not sure why I don't just use the Wii though. Its just easier to leave the controllers and memory cards hooked up on the Gamecube.
After reading the article in EGM I'm a little more excited than I was. I wished some of my friends were getting this soon. Seems like they are putting it off for PS3 games, etc... Or either just planning to rent it.
Not a whole lot of excitement from them about Brawl at all, or really the Wii in general. My barber is a big gamer, and last time I was in there he told me he was even thinking about selling his Wii. When I asked why he said that the game library wasn't great, and good games didn't come out very often. I'm also hearing a lot of complaints about the Wii focusing on "casual gamers", "kiddie games", and that the Wii is a fad. Sort of odd cause a year ago the same people were super excited for the system. Is this common, or do I just live in an area dominated by 360/PS3 fans?

I agree the Wii is a system for everyone. I think I've remained a Nintendo fan the past 20 some years because of their 1st party titles. Mario, Zelda, etc... are always great. Even though the Wii has been great, my favorite system from Nintendo still remains the SNES (I hope Secret of Mana eventually makes it to the Virtual Console).I Love Bambi wrote:I like the Wii because Nintendo creates a big variety of games that can appeal to all ages, not just kids. I still play and enjoy Mario, LOL.![]()
I think I will eventually pick up Brawl because I'm a Nintendo fan. I'll see.
I still plug in Galaxy from time to time and replay stages. Galaxy so far has been the best game on the Wii in my opinion.

I'm guessing this is the reason.DarthPrime wrote: do I just live in an area dominated by 360/PS3 fans?
Most hardcore gamers especially for America or Western countries focus on the PS and Xbox systems.
however I've encounter people who like Wii also like Xbox 360 as both balance out each out well.
But the thing your barber said about Wii having less games is definitely wrong. Wii probably has one of the most diverse PLUS the VC that you can buy online. Xbox360 comes close.
PS3 hardly have any good games out yet.
Ok this is a Smash Brother thread not a Console war thread.
Anyway, new update is Shiek is now confirmed for Brawl! YAY.

I just don't understand why people would want to sell a system that has many good games, several great games, and more on the way. I think that those people must get bored easily. At any rate, more power to them. I wouldn't sell my Wii, even if I didn't play it for a while, because you can only play Nintendo games on their systems, and Nintendo makes the best games.
In fact, Super Smash Bros. Brawl has received a perfect score from the Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu.

It sucks that the game has been delayed, again! I guess they really want to make this the perfect game. So, I'll forgive them another delay. However, if March 9 (the new American release date), rolls around, and this game isn't out, I'm going to make my way to the head of Nintendo, and demand he give me a copy, right then and there! If he doesn't, I'll hold Mario hostage, and will not release him until I have the game!!!

Oh MM1, if only you lived in Europe. And then you would know what waiting really was.MadonnasManOne wrote:It sucks that the game has been delayed, again! And no, language translations aren't an excuse. Not when Microsoft and Sony can get games out with way more text and speech in them out within days of the US release. (Viva Pinata, Mass Effect and Bioshock for example have reams and reams of text and speech)
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Even though the Wii does have a large amount of games, the main problem I hear is quality. The hardcore crowd around here wants more Metroid, Zelda, Mario, etc... type games and less party games. Who knows... But yeah I agree most people where I live that have a Wii also has a PS or XBox system.
Anyway back on topic... I can't believe Brawl is delayed again. I really hope this game and its online mode are great. I'm really looking forward to the online part of the game. I hope this gets the Wii online up and going good now. Its been a slow start for the Wii online.

No doubt in my mind, Super Smash Brothers Brawl will be fantastic, but don't see everything Famitsu says as true words. They same people who gave Nintendogs a perfect score...... :/MadonnasManOne wrote: In fact, Super Smash Bros. Brawl has received a perfect score from the Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu.

Anyway the japanese release comes out the 31, which no doubt in my mind we'll know full roster by then.

that is sooo awesome Super Aurora!!!
i thought it was weird that jigglypuff wasn't there, and ness being replaced??? that was weird.
Lucario is such a cool pokemon, although i like mewtwo better due to all the nostalgia of pokemon and mewtwo just means to me the spot where
pokemon just exploded, lucario would be a much cooler character for Brawl.

Game and Watch is awesome. Beacon spamming FTW. Plus he predate Mario in Nintendo's history.rs_milo_whatever wrote:i'm gonna miss mewtwo, game and watch was pretty stupid, but they're
messing with the continuity of the games by not putting characters
already in the franchise.
As for Mewtwo, he probably going to be a Boss in Subspace Emissary.
The other character in Melee like Roy, Pichu and Dr. Mario are clones and use for advertisement purpose(Roy and Pichu).
