I was under the impression that the entire series of Veggie Tales stuff was direct to video. I've never seen theatrical ads for them on TV, but I've seen several ads for them on VHS / DVDs (does Disney run these? Or is it strictly Lions Gate / Artisan?). And each time, they were for the Video of each "new adventure" they were going on. I took these as a sign that it was direct to video. Plus...there doesn't seem to be much of a difference between this series and all the stuff they show on Nick Jr. and PBS when they show kids stuff that isn't legendarily famous. Like that Builder guy (Bob?). Or the little dog- Spot(?). Or the puppets that work in a library. Or those video game stick figure / toy things that look like they're in a perpetual 3-D world. Or, that creature that jumps on a couch all the time and has big yarn things in its' hair. Or the character who flies in an airplane. They show new video ads for these things all the time and they're always either direct to video or TV shows.JiminyCrick91 wrote:Why would it not be? Jonah was. I find it odd that you did not know since I thought Universal was promotion was far better than anything Artisan did for Jonah.Lazario wrote: This was released theatrically??

Universal Pictures took over distribution rights for Big Idea and have put this movie, which was written in 1992, before the bankruptcy, into theaters to really good response.
"Veggie Tales" is one of the better Saturday morning shows for children and adults alike. There stories always have a good moral to them, and are actually very entertaining.
Other long-lasting shows on for kids and adults alike include the mentioned "Bob the Builder", "Thomas The Tank Engine", "Bigfoot Present Mighty Meteor and the Monster Trucks", and many, many more. And none of these are Disney-related.

The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!

Kind of a mixed bag. Very good ideas, great actors, but they could have made more of the material. The story was okay, the script not so well written, but you could see that the cast and crew had fun making it.
The biggest plus is, of course, Colin Firth (half-naked!!!), the many, many Colin Firth movie references and Rupert Everett in drag. Those two make such a great couple.
Fun flick, very entertaining but certainly no masterpiece.
