Seen it last week, absolutely loved it, ordered the soundtrack as soon as I got home

I want to see it but I'll wait for it to reach the small cinema in my town (that only plays one movie a week) rather than drive half an hour to a larger town that has a cinema that has 10 different movies to chose from. I go that latter one when there's a movie I've got to see as soon as possible (ex: Sweeney Todd) and don't want to wait 2-3 weeks for it to reach my town's cinema.

I saw the film over x-mas break and found it quite enjoyable, it was a bit easier to watch then Garfield cause you're not struggling with an actual comic book character speakin. As for the title character and his bros, I agree with some that claimed it's tough seeing the chipmunks in actual size and Tim Hill made a wise descion to steer away little bit from the show itself, course it would've been funny if they had a few "get our own show" jokes. The villain could've been stronger in an emotional way and his motives could've been alil better too. Other than the metioned complaints Alivn and the Chipmunks is a delightful film to watch. Seems like Chipmunk mania has struck again.

I saw it on the 27th of December with my friends, since they didn't want to watch anything scary, and Enchanted was already out of the theaters. It was too cheesy for my taste. I was even more disappointed with the uses of songs, and that all the little toddlers in the theater I was in knew all the words, and sang them. Loud. It just shows how much children are corrupt.

We need more Mermaid-raised-kids. Like me. lol

But seriously... it was an okay movie. That scene where Simon ate Theodore's "waste" was nasty. Unfortunately, I have to admit, the fart Alvin made when Dave was trying to find them actually had me laughing. Glad to know I'm not too pathetically "mature". lol

Finally saw it, and I was quite pleased with it. Admittedly though, I tend to like live-action films based on cartoons and comics, even when CGI is used. I'll point out their flaws if they bother me, but I can still enjoy them if they're enjoyable. I quite liked the Garfield movies, though I wasn't happy with the changes made to some of the characters. They got Garfield himself right, in my opinion, and that carried the movies. However, I liked the Chipmunks at least as much as the Garfield movies. For rewatchability, it will probably rank higher in the long run. Definitely will be buying it.

Incidentally, saying you enjoyed/liked a movie doesn't necessarily mean you are saying you want all movies to be exactly like it. Anyway, great movies and crappy movies always have been and always will be made simultaneously, and a person can have a taste for both (and anyone who says they love movies probably should). Though, I wouldn't call this one a crappy movie. Yeah, it's trendy, but it's cute and funny and that's all most people were expecting. In fact, after the trailer and teaser poster, I'd say it is much better than most people were expecting. Better than I was expecting anyway. It also stays true enough to the Chipmunks, in my opinion, and I'm a longtime fan who grew up on the '80's show and reruns of the old show. I had a little trouble dealing with their primitive origins at first, as portrayed in the film that is, but it all evolved rather well. I do wish they'd make them larger for the next film though, maybe as a result of eating junkfood and other human food on a regular basis or just evolving a bit from living with humans. I also would want them to add the Chipettes, but I don't doubt that they will.

In other news there is already talk of a sequel and the Chipettes will 100% be in it.

I wouldn't mind seeing them make a live action version of the very enjoyable animated movie from the 80s. The problem is they made the chipmunks into real chipmunks so they are too small to smuggle teddy bears full of diamonds. But I'd be willing to bet my life that "The Girls (Boys) of Rock and Roll" will be featured in the sequel.

Oh good lord, I actually did go see this the other day. Sunday was a total bore. My daughter was itching to do something and the weather was too bad for the park or a nature walk, so I figured, a movie. Only kid movie playing was the chipmunks. So whatever, took her to see that.

Dismal. There was a chuckle from me here or there, but was it worth the trip? No. I did like David Cross' character in this, he did a good job for what he was given. And the story was deffinetly a satire of the music industry, but it didn't save it at all for me. Predictable and disappointing. And a pet peeve...David Cross gave Simon new glasses that looked like his and then the immediate scenes after for about 3 minutes, Simon was wearing his old glasses, and then when the music montage was done, he was in the new glasses again. WTF?

I would have much rather seen Water Horse again. That was a good movie.

Alvin and the Chipmunks come to DVD and Blu Ray April 1st. The 2007 movie that is... I will might consider getting this on Blu Ray depending on if it has any of the Chipmunk Cartoons in High Def as a bonus feature....If not I will buy the DVD release

I can't wait for the sequel, and I have a feeling it'll be alot more interesting since 20th Fox is bringing the Chippettes so I'm excited, but I think they'll change their clothin like they did with the boys, (trade the modern skirts for mini skirts or jeans) I actualy enjoyed the movie and couldn't believe how much $ it brought in.

Anybody know when Fox will be releasing The Alvin Show (1960s)

It's just in talks, but it's likely gon'na happen according to Ross B. Jr's wife, I wouldn't mind seeing the bows in the girls' hair, they gave the boys sweaters instead of jersey
