Awesome. I just got volumes 5 and 6 (finishing up season 3), season 4, and season 5 for Christmas. Can't wait!
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

This is great news. I finished up Season Four recently, and it won't take long to watch Season Five.

For those who didn't know, there were 6 single disc "volumes" which were basically seasons 1-3. Seasons 4 and 5 were released as multi-disc season sets.

Volume 1 (and maybe others) also has some episodes from Season 10, I believe.

I can't wait either for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Season 6.
At the same point I feel sad because Season 5 left out 3 episodes from the series.

Yeah I had head something about that. What's the full scoop?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Season Five does not contain 3 episodes that are "Once Upon a Time Machine", "Planet of the Turtleoids: Part 1" and "Planet of the Turtleoids: Part 2".
Planet of the Turtleoids was shown as a special on CBS Primetime back in Saturday August 31, 1991 but in rerun (Saturday morning) it’s broken down into two episodes.
Hopefully Lions Gate found out and will add these three episodes as bonus episodes on Season Six or future releases.
I really don't know the reason why Lions Gate would leave out 3 episodes.

Since we have some informed Turtle fans in the forum, maybe someone has an answer to a question that's been bugging me for some time now.

I remember loving an episode where Splinter breaks the lock off of a door (maybe in the Channel 6 building) with his bare paws. I think it was around the time of the change to the new title sequence and theme song. Does this sound familiar to anyone else?

No, that's Splinter from the late 80's and early 90's. The Splinter from the new TMNT series looks way different.

Hmmm I dunno... it looks like the same graphic that was used on the Volume 6 cover... which was not Splinter from the original toon.

It looks like Splinter, April, and the Turtles are closer to the original comic incarnations on that cover than either cartoon show.

Looks awesome! I wonder if it'll have any good bonus features like seasons 4 and 5 did (I loved those interviews!)

Several questions I have:

- Why volumes 2 till 6 got such crappy designs?

... then when they decided to try something different (Seasons 4, 5 and 6) couldn't stick to a regular design?

I don't know and.... I don't know!

Seriously though I wasn't a fan of the graphics on the covers of Volumes 2-6 either.

Season 4 was pretty cool I guess but it had that un-necessary "3D" slipcover with Raph on it.

I loved season 5's pizza box-themed package design, I thought that was a really neat and interesting idea.

Season 6's comic book theme was ok, don't really care either way.

I'm interested to see what the next set's design is.

Well, they weren't doing full seasons to start with, I figure they "tested the waters" with the first discs, to see if seasons would sell.

Also, the first volumes included episodes from other seasons, not just 1-3. I think they had some of season 10 on them, or something!

Actually, it looks like I managed to find volumes 1-5 for 3.99-4.99 each...

Season 4 was mis-priced or something, so I got it for under 25 (I can't remember) while season 5 was ~18 or so. I still need to find volume 6, and then I need to pick up season 6.

====

As far as the covers go, I like volume 1 (I got the slipcover with it, to boot.)
Season 4 almost looks like it was taken straight from the artwork on volume 5!

I like seasons 5 and 6, volumes 2-3 (and 6) are ok, I guess. Volumes 4 and 5 don't follow the first three, although 5 looks better than 4.

Edit: I forgot I had the lenticular slipcover for volume 5... I don't know why the first one came with a slipcover, and then volume 5 had a slipcover, but the others never did (as far as I know.)
