This is especially good news for all of us who jumped on the Blu-Ray bandwagon early. I knew that I had made the correct decision when I opted out of my Toshiba 'problem-child' HD-DVD player and let the salesperson talk me into going Blu-Ray.
While the picture quality is pretty much the same for both formats, the sound that comes from Blu-Ray is uncompressed, and will rock the roof of your house if you can turn it up.
While I have really limited my purchases of Blu-Ray discs in the past, waiting to see which format was going to dominate, I know now that I can start really looking into the Blu-Ray sales and start increasing my collection of Blu-Ray movies.
Probably the only double-dipping that I will do, however, will be the Lord of the Rings Trilogy when it comes to Blu-Ray. I don't plan on other double-dips except for Disney and Disney/Pixar products, which I have kept up with this past year - "Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy" is awesome in Blu-Ray and I have a new love of "Cars" in Blu-Ray.
