I think he is being very honest. The new CD is really overly produced, and very poorly done at that. The critics have been very hard on it, and I have seen tons of it in the Used CD stores already. You would have thought that they would have spent more time on this release and made sure that it was at the top of the line when it came out, instead of being just 'ho-hum' average, and that is stretching it just a bit.

Britney needs to go back to a 'true' rehab for a minimum of 90 days, and not to some luxury resort they call a rehab. She needs some tough love, and needs some one that really cares about her and that she trusts, to show her the way back to the top. I don't think she is over-the-hill in any way, shape or form, I just think that she has been mis-led, and doesn't have many friends in the business right now.

We need the 'old' Britney back, and the only way that is going to happen is for her to take charge of her life, and want it to happen.

Hmm...that's interesting, because from what I've read, the CD has been getting good reviews. I listened to it on MTV's The Leak and only liked half the CD, so I downloaded the half that I liked.

Musically, we'll never get the same old Britney back. She's gotten too techno, and I don't see her doing strictly bubblegum pop like on her first 2 albums. And, personality-wise, you're right- she does need loving people around her. Hopefully she'll grow up and get the help she needs- hopefully when she's in her 30s, she won't be a no-panties-wearing, leave-the-kids-with-a-nanny-every-night-of-the-week-so-I-can-go-clubbing kind of lady.

No. I'm being honest. I really think that next week the CD will take a big dive on the Billboard Top 200 and keep on falling from there. I don't see it being a longterm seller. Even you said so yourself that you didn't buy the CD, only downloaded the half that you liked.

I agree with dvdjunkie (which, by the way, is the second time for today, scary or what?! Just joking junkie :) ) that the album is done very poorly and rushed and that getting back into rehab should be her first priority.

Out of curiosity at what all the fuss was about I downloaded a few of the songs.

Oooh Baby: sounds much similar to a few other songs I've heard almost like she ripped off the beat/rhythm and just put new lyrics and made it a faster pace

Lets Get Naked: Just plain scares me, the guy in it is just as useless as Akon was for Gwen Stefani's Sweet Escape song. The one thing that bugs me about the song is the swearing early on, it just seems forced and useless the song would have been less horrible without it.

Toy Soldier: The beats not too bad, I"ve always prefered faster beats to slow ones. However Britney's voice sounds rather bad IMO the techno just doesn't seem to work with her as well as the Bubblegum/Pop sound was.

Gimme More: To me I don't really count this as a song since IMO a song has more than just two words, all I heard was Gimme Gimme More over and over and over. Then there were the odd times I heard her talking which just made it sound more horrible. This is a good song, if you don't like hearing more than a few words

All in all, I agree with Anthony, I wouldn't be suprised if stores lowered the prices of the album around Christmas time just to try and get rid of them. Yeah I sound harsh but this is rather poor quality compared to her original work, her fans deserve much better.

"We" as in you included? I thought you always hated Britney, because she can't sing and is talentless like you kept saying all this time. :?

Here's footage of the dancers and a stand-in for Britney rehearsing "Gimme More" for the MTV Video Music Awards. What could've been...!

That video sort of reminds me of the Gimme More performance. Whenever the camera was on her she looked like she was just flopping around with an emotionless face. That's probably why it cut to different shots so often.

I still would like to see Britney make that comeback, but I'm beginning to lose hope at this stage of the game.

I liked it. I was expecting more, but since she only had two hours to do it, and almost missed the shoot, it was good. She looked better than she did in the Gimme More video and MTV performance, and she sort-of looked liked she used to, in terms of actual looks, performance quality and confidence. She's getting better, this video gives me faith that she'll get back to what she was.

I agree. I liked Britney's old songs, like "Hit Me Baby One More Time", but the new ones just don't do it for me.

I'm not sure whether or not this warrants its own thread or not, so I thought I'd just stick it in here... it does have to do with the Spears family, anyway.

Apparently, Britney's 16 year-old sister is now pregnant as well, lol.

http://www.people.com/people/article/0, ... 59,00.html

Though even Britney [somehow] managed to wait until she was legal and married before getting pregnant. I guess it's turned into a game of one-up-manship, lol. It'll be fascinating to see how the industry in general deals with a case of celebrity teen pregnancy... though why exactly this girl is a celebrity is quite beyond me.

After Britney, though, I'm not sure how anything can shock their mother, lol. I guess that's just something parents are required to say... even when it's really not that shocking, lol.

Heard that about her sister this morning.

Anyway I keep hearing that it really isn't Britney in the new music video. They either altered her digitally or used a body double. I know it was on the news shows like ET, etc... this week. However I have no clue if its true or not.

Don't believe I ever posted in this thread before but with her recent standoff with cops and another hospitilization, I have a dark feeling Britney may end up taking her own life by accident or on purpose by the end of the year. I think the pressure is getting too much. And that's sad, because I think she is her own worst enemy. People want to blame K-Fed, the media, her fans, her haters, whatever....But I think most of her stress, she causes herself. I think her state of mind is that she knows everyone is just waiting for another screw up that she doesn't feel she can get out of the cycle.

Britney Spears needs to have someone who cares very deeply for her, and heaven knows who that would be, and get her committed to a long-term re-hab that isn't a luxury palace. She needs some tough love, and needs to be out of the spotlight for a minimum of a year. That is the only way it will work. These 30-day rehab stints at these celebrity country clubs have proven that they don't work for someone in her condition.

I feel very terrible for the kids, but at least Kevin wants them, and will look after their well-being for now. He is not afraid to ask for help, and will get all he needs when it comes to the kids.

Right now we all need to pray for Britney, and hope that she gets the treatment she needs. And it can't be at one of those posh country clubs, it has to be at one of the same type of rehab centers that you and I would have to go to that you aren't treated like anyone special, just someone who needs a lot of help.

"Leave Britney Alone!!!"

Seriously with all of the real problems in the world who cares about a rich spoiled multimillionaire. I feel sorry that her kids have to live with either biological parent. Both are losers. Britney Nicole Smith (um I mean Spears) will probably end up od'ing. Her sister will probably be a grandmother at 30. And in the whole scheme of things it means nothing. Who cares?

I can't say I can really sit down and apply myself to praying for Britney. As I said, she causes most her own problems. Be it drugs or just plan stupid.

My prayers (other than localized family/friends) usually go out to the thousands of children who are abused and neglected, or to the animals that are abused or neglected, to the people who don't have good, medical care, or shelter. I pray the Earth can heal from all the wounds we cause it. And I pray we can find peace.

Praying for Britney to get her act together isn't even on my list. She had food, water, medical care, pretty cars, expensive jewelry, a cell phone, all the bon bons she can eat...Her kids are safe with their dad and the way Britney is going, they really don't need her in their life. They need a MOM. Not a has-been teenie bopper who can't get her act together and grow up.
I was a single mom at 19. Giving birth added a few years to my maturity level. Obviously Britney didn't have that instinct kick in with any of her kids. She gets little to no sympathy from me.

I guess she's feeling the weight of pressure to conform, like all artists today, to make whatever most people are buying. Of course, I don't know what music most people are buying now. Whenever Beyonce comes out with something new, people seem to love it. Or maybe they just love her and the music's here nor there... Even Paris Hilton came off less slutty than Britney's new thing. Not that you're going to hear me tell her how to live her life. She can't do one thing without it being photographed and plastered all over the world. A world of people that don't care that much about her.

Maybe none of us know what's right for her.

Of course, the funniest thing is right- for a person who knows intimately what is causing her so much trouble, she seems determined to keep doing everything wrong. In her personal life.

But, we're all sick of this same old story, song, and dance.

Hmmm, I have no idea how this is going to play out. On Thursday she's holding her kids hostage, she's overdosing on 100 drugs, she's on a strecher to a mental hospital, and then a few days later after escaping through an underground tunnel, and a visit with Dr. Phil she's on a romantic escape with her Afghanistani paparazzi boyfriend, as they smoke, hug, and suck on lollipops. I hope that before she dies or whatever she makes one last great and unforgettable music video.
