I didn't know they were known outside of the German speaking part of Europe. I love the Sissi movies, although they have nothing to do with historical fact, but still they're sooo sweet.
I got them for Christmas last year. Are they dubbed, ot subtitled?
The movies are subtitled. They're so wonderful aren't they? Amazon.com sells the entire box set.
I adore them and grew up watching them, since German TV shows them every Christmas.
So y'all get to hear Vilma Degischer's (Erzherzogin Sophie) wonderful voice, as the movies are with subs that's pretty cool. She was such a great actress.

Yes, she's great in the movies. It's quite amusing that even beautiful Sissi, the Empress of Austria, has a meddling mother-in-law!

Here's what I got for Christmas:

the Best Buy gift pack of Pirates: At World's End 2-disc with Teague figure

a Pirates of the Caribbean popcorn tin and a ball ornament with the animated style Pirates of the Caribbean on it

a cocoa set with two mugs featuring the animated style Pirates of the Caribbean

a set of Star Wars Cantina Band figures that come with a tin box to store them in

Spirit of the Wolf hardcover book about wolves

Young Indiana Jones Volume One DVD set

Another Legacy Collection True Life Adventure DVD set (I forget which it was, 2 or 3, but I know that I only need the 4th one now)

Underdog (the movie) on DVD from a friend

V for Vendetta 2-disc on DVD from a friend

One of the small Pirates of the Caribbean Elizabeth figures from a friend

Witchblade (anime) volume 2 DVD from a friend

Ghost Hunting paperback book from the Ghost Hunters guys

a sheet of Star Wars stamps

some Disney Store T-Shirts and a Big Bad Wolf sweatshirt

cash from my grandparents that I used to get Heroes Season One for 19.99 at Target this week, along with the soundtrack to Elf for 4.99 (Christmas Clearance, I have been wanting that CD forever), and the Jack Frost action figure from the Frosty's Winter Wonderland line (also Christmas Clearance, but at Toys R Us, just need Parson Brown now)

Also got a box of Hallmark Ornaments from 2006: Shrek with Donkey and Puss, Spider-Man, Batman, Anakin and Obi Wan's lightsaber battle, Bugs Bunny watching cartoons and eating cereal, Harry Potter, and maybe some I'm forgetting.

Might be forgetting some other stuff too.

I also used points from my gifts to order "The Fighting Prince of Donegal" from Disney Movie Rewards. Plus, we went to see "Sweeney Todd" just before Christmas and "Enchanted" just yesterday. LOVED them both!!! I really want something from Enchanted now, but there's not a lot for a guy to choose from. I don't want to shell out the dough for a fashion doll that'll probably just go straight into my closet until I get my own house, either. Right now I think I'll either get a poster, the soundtrack, or a plush Giselle, or some combination of those, unless I find something else. Wish they had a nice, affordable vinyl bank of Giselle, or action figures... I also want something of Ratatouille, a Remy action figure or beanie, but I went to the Disney Store yesterday and they had neither, just the human characters.

A modest selection of gifts this year:

DVDs
The Spitfire Grill - from my friend Susan
Ella Enchanted - from Secret Santa The Little Merman
"Veronica Mars": Season Two - from my sister Jane
Stardust - from myself
Spider-Man 3: Three-Disc Deluxe Edition (Target) - from myself
"Sapphire & Steel": The Complete Series - from myself
ClothesA Blue Sweater - from my parents
A Blue Polo T-Shirt - from my relatives in the Philippines
A Grey Collared Shirt - from my cousins in Philly

MiscellaneousA Box of Ferraro Rocher Chocolates - yum!, from one of the women in our church's music ministry
A stuffed animal pig that oinks Christmas carols - from another woman in our music ministry, and incidentally, my former 5th grade elementary school teacher!
Meet the Robinsons Action Figures! - from my friend Victoria.
A Male Manicure Set - from one of my aunts. I'm guessing she doesn't want me to have dirty finger nails?
A Glove Box Umbrella - from my parents, which is perfect because my old Disney umbrella is broken
Two Decks of Cards - from my cousin (who knows that I go through and wear out decks quickly and always need to buy more!)
$200 - from my parents
$25 - from my godmother

And perhaps my favorite gift of all was a new DDR Dance Pad that my brother Kram got for me. The $225 I got will likely go towards "Doctor Who" (Seasons Two and Three, or select DVDs from the classic series), "I Love Lucy" (The Complete Series), or "Twin Peaks" (The Definitive Gold Box Edition).

Time for me to chime in?

Raise the curtain on:

:santa:WHAT JULIAN CARTER GOT FOR CHRISTMAS!:santa:

So, I got:

1) A fat book, containing all three of Philip Pullman's novels, "Northern Lights", "The Subtle Knife" and "The Amber Spyglass".

2) A 2Gb USB flash drive.

And a few days ago, I got a really nice surprise. A German friend of mine bought himself a new digital camera, and since he didn't have anything to do with his old one, he gave it to me! :) It may not be fancy, but it takes pictures, and I've never had a camera before! It has a resolution of 3.3 mega pixels, and I think it must be about 5 years old.

How is that one? I just added it to my Amazon wish list. I used to get anything and everything with Jodi's voice on it, because I was totally in love with her voice! Still am, I guess you could say. I even have a cassette of children's Bible songs she did and a soundtrack to a Broadway show I've never seen (also on cassette, unfortunately).

Also, anyone know if Jodi and Robby are related or married or something? I never stopped to think about it, but since they have the same last name...
