I have Disney Channel!!!

Post by Jules »

Oh! Wasn't I ecstatic yesterday!? Our digital TV provider decided to suddenly slip in Disney Channel into its lineup. I think Disney Channel was previously only available to those who went the way of satellite TV in my country, but now it's open to the masses! For the first time in my life I saw an episode of "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" (I liked it. It was about a spelling competition and one of the twins being in debt). For the first time in my life I saw an episode of "Cory in the House" (it was rather poor, and the acting was of a very low level). For the first time in my life I saw an episode of "The House of Mouse" (this one was really entertaining! I loved seeing all the different Disney cameos! It featured a Goofy short called "How to Haunt a House", and considering it's TV material, it was actually quite clever and not badly animated). For the first time in my life I saw an episode of "Disney's Recess" (this one looked a bit dumpy, and seems to emanate from the pre-digital age, but it was brisk and held my attention). For the first time in my life I saw an episode of "The Emperor's New School" (diverting, but feels very different from the original film. Don't like the voice acting for Kuzco, and am at a loss why the character design has been changed. At least Patrick Warburton and Eartha Kitt return to reprise their roles; passable and occasionally clever).

Please bear in mind that I never knew what the hell "Cory in the House" or "Zack and Cody" were about, but I'm picking them up! :)

Feel free to criticise my irrational and overly frivolous reaction!

Haha, have fun! Samantha Samuels makes Cory in the House watchable, at least in my opinion. Recess is a definite product of the 90's, and is best seen through 4th grade eyes. (I had that privilege. I also had a reputation for being somewhere in between Spinelli, Gretchen, and Ashley Q. The latter is the Ashley who wears blue with black fur trim. She may not look it, but she's amazingly good at kickball.) Of all the regularly airing shows of this decade on Disney Channel, The Emperor's New School is what I watch the most these days. It's simply funny. Malina grates on my nerves, though. Why does she have to be so perfect -and- self-righteous? You can't mix those traits and end up with a likable leading character. House of Mouse is, of course, definitely entertaining. I'm getting sick of The Suite Life, and am very disappointed with both the new season and the character of Nia.

There you have it, my out-of-order responses. Again, have fun! I wonder what you would have thought of Pepper Ann...

Haha! It certainly seems rather kiddish, but I have to admit I didn't mind watching it anyhow. I'll credit it for its likeable lead character.

I'd say she's just downright boring. Yesterday she was getting all mad at Kuzco because of his "far-fetched" stories on his news-scrolls. I think she's kind hearted though, and that's a positive character trait.

Hmm ... don't know what that is, and I certainly haven't seen it yet. To be honest, I can't wait to see a bit of Kim Possible. That's a show I've actually seen at times. That's because these last couple of years I caught a handful of episodes dubbed in Italian on some Italian TV channels. You see, in Malta, we get almost all the Italian TV stations free-to-air thanks to our vicinity to ITALIA! Har Har Har!!!

The only ones I like that are still aired on that channel are Recess and Pepper Ann. :) Haven't seen the others yet.

Yay, Julian! Disney Channel is pretty much all I watch! Are the shows dubbed, or do you get them in English?

I love all the shows on Disney Channel...and hopefully you will too! :)
