Some beaches on the west coast. The ones around Vancouver are protected and good for swimming. The ones on the the west coast of Vancouver Island feature some of the world's best surfing but are very cold. Really don't know about the east coast. Although given the Atlantic is way colder than the Pacific they may not be useable much of the year.
I lived on the Atlantic Ocean when I was a little kid. The beaches there are really nice, and while the water may be cooler, like all water, it's not so bad once you get in.

Right now I live about 5 minutes away from a beautiful beach on Lake Nippising, and about 20 minutes away from an even nicer beach on Trout Lake. In my opinion Lake Swimming is better than ocean swimming too, unless you live on a coral reef.

Why did you ask this? Was there any reason you wanted to know?

Well, I'm not going there or anything (not for a lack of trying). I was just thinking about something. It's a bit complex, geeky, and would probably incur a few eyebrow raises. Another one of those slightly obsessive things with me. I'm sure people are tired to hearing about it by now.

Did you saw a picture of a Vancouver's beach and instead of having coconut trees and all the thigs that a usual beach has the fact of finding pine trees instead made you wonder?

Yeah, it happened me too :P

Well, I was listening to people talk about making movies in Canada and for whatever reason, I was thinking about locations that would be hard to find. Things that you don't find a lot of in Canada.

And there were two things I wanted to know if they had anywhere in Canada. Tropical beaches was one.

The other was any kind of castles or gothic architecture. I really have been to Canada only once and I was a kid.
