No, it wasn't a stupid line. Fairy tale damsels and princesses have been rescued by heroes since fairy tales began, with only a few exceptions. For the millionth time, look up what 'damsel' means and learn to spell s-t-u-p-i-d!
You're so melodramatic.
Maybe original fairy tales (baiscly stories like Swan Lake,Rapunzel and more) but Disney Princesses are heroines (and also Giselle).
Damsel is a short for a damsel in distress (aka:girls (baiscly stupid ones) who gets kidnappt every 5 seconds or get tied up and gagged),if you want there's a maiden, which is a girl or a beautiful girl, damsel is the one in distress.
I"m not,the Princesses are no damsels in distress, they're heroines.
I hate to rehash something that's almost been put to death in this thread but I just had to say something. Ariel'sprince you are wrong. The true definition of a damsel is a young unmarried woman of noble birth. Now the defintion of a damsel in distress is that it's USUALLY a young woman of noble blood who is placed in a dire perdicament by a villian or monster and requires a hero to save her. A maiden is pretty much the same as a damsel except for the being of noble birth part. Maidens can become maidens in distress. (I didn't want to say damsel because some Disney Princesses weren't born royal.)
Now even though the general population thinks that damsels in distress are very stupid and brainless girls is just ridiculous. Even though the Disney Princesses are very strong willed and minded young women they too could have a damsel in distress moment. Let's take Snow White and Sleeping Beauty both were put in dire predicaments in the form of sleep. Snow White's Prince kissed her to save her while Prince Phillip had to not only kiss Aurora but he had to defeat Malificent to rescue her. Even Cinderella had a moment like that. When she was locked in her room by Lady Tremaine, Jauq and Gus saved her in the form of bringing her the key. (I know that one was kinda pushing it.) But I guess you probably get my point.
Okay now that my rant is over all I have to say is that I loved Enchanted and I plan on seeing it again before National Treasure 2 comes out.

What episode? By the way, Charmed is dead. It's not a new episode.
EDIT: The episode is "Murphy's Luck". It's season two, and I think Amy Adams is supposed to play a future whitelighter who almost commits suicide and Prue stops her. When I get home I'll watch it on my DVD.

Looks damsels in distress (and no,saying what this word means dosn't mean it's that) are girls who does nothing exept get kidnappt, just becouse Cinderella needed help unlock a door dosn't make her a dasmel in distress! and so to other Princesses, the princes got help too (Philip got rescued (and he's got kidnappt! which more make a damsel in distress),Ariel saved Eric and etc.,you know what? even Hercuels got rescued a few times, does that make them a damsels in distress? no,and so to the Princesses),the Princesses are not damsels in distress.
And by the way-Philip didn't killed Malificent, the fairies did.

Musical scene are great! I love Menken's style... he made a great job!
I love the prologue in 2D animation... I love animated Narissa as a old hag... her animation (created by Andreas Deja) is great, one of the best animated character! At the contrary, I don't love too much animated Narissa as a Queen... her animation is discontinuous...
Giselle is good... I loved the sequence in which Giselle is tourned into a live action girl! it was great!
For live action sequences...
Giselle is a great character... Amy Adams is a very good actress...
I don't love too much Edward... it's too stupid... and also I don't love Nancy because she has no role...
Narissa? I think she is a flop... she isn't a great villain... no, I don't love her!
The HORRIBLE part of the movie is the scene in which Pip the chipmuck take a shit!!! Is is so necessary to show this scene???? It's so vulgar scene!!! I HATE it! They had ruin a sure succes! My friends left the Cinema when they saw this scene!!! And I agree with them, but I watch all the movie... but I must say that the scene is disgusting and make me feel sick!
I think Disney is hypocrite because Disney criticizes Dreamworks who shows fart jokes, shit jokes or pee jokes and Disney itself show same jokes... so DISNEY IS HYPOCRITE!!!
I hope in future Disney's movie ("Bolt", "The Princess and the Frog" and "Rapunzel") there isn't this sort of jokes because I don't want to vomit when I go to the cinema!

Wow! That's a new one. I don't see what's so gross about it. He's a chipmonk, they lay their droppings everywhere.... especially when they're scared.

it suprises me that this would make someone walk out of a cinema
I didn't think it was needed, but it didn't really annoy me too much (not like the "pee, pee, pee" thing in Chicken Little).
One of my favorite parts is when Pip does his impressions of Giselle and Nathan, I always laugh at that.
I really like Nancy. I like how she was not a stereo-typical evil step mom and was in that way a good contrast to Narissa. I also loved how both Nancy and Edward are able to accept that Giselle and Robert love each other and allow them to be together. When Edward says that Robert is her true love and Nancy tells him it's ok my heart breaks for them both as it shows they love the other enough to let them go and be with the one they really love. Of course I really wish they had kept her and Edward's duet!
If (when?) they do a sequel then Nancy had better sing! She's a fairy tale princess now so they have no excuse

I actually have a feeling that the sequel will be about Giselle's life before the film or they even make a whole TV series about it (and the Disney Princess franchise will focuse on that and the opening of Enchanted).
If they did anything with the franchise it would be a mix of live action and animation again, not one or the other so a prequel couldn't really be done.
I hadn't thought of a TV series. I suppose a TV series set before the film (like TLM had) could work very well, but Disney don't seem to do TV spin offs as much any more. TLM and Aladdin were fantastic series (Hercules was great as well and I love the Arabian Night episode!) and if they could do an Enchanted series of the same quality then I'm sure it would be fantastic. If not a TV series then she'll probably appear at some point in an "Enchanted Tales" story.

but if they do a sequel..(which i pray they wont...spin offs r fine..for animated prequel..) i don't think they can go the same route..with giselle breaking into songs..and being put in odd situations..the joke would be expected and hence....the formula tragedy will strike again...how many times do they wish do put her in a fish out of water situation? i'd say kept it as a solo movie.mary poppins didnt need to have a sequel...the novel notwithstanding.
maybe they can do an animal enchanted..cartoon animals...a certain princess monkey name monzelle got lost in the real world and falls in love with a new york zoo monkey.and pay homage to all animal films..especially oliver since its in new york.
A script for the sequel was apparently in the works BEFORE the movie came out. I hope they don't make it as Enchanted should be something that stands on it's own. However, I could see them doing a sequel about a son and or daughter of Edward and Nacy going into the real world, but I don't really know who or what the villain would be.
I could only see them doing a prequel. Defintley featuring Giselle's animated world, and possibly alternating with Robert's real world. An animated prequel series, however, would be much better, but I don't they could get the orginal voices back. Although, they did get Eartha Kitt, Patrick Warburton, and John Goodman (second season) back for Emperor's New School.

That surprises me as well. How can you and your friend take that so seriously? Did the peeing poodle also offend you?
