Very few of my DVDs have a proper booklet, as you call it. Snow White, Pinocchio, 1-disc Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty... I think that's it.

Thanks Ichabod - much appreciated!!

I notice there is now a 6-8 week delay on the gift sets on Amazon. Glad mine has already been shipped.

I got my Jungle Book collector's box today and was quite surprised by the Platinum banner and the absence of the Classics logo on the DVD cover, as well as by the contents of the book. I wouldn't call it crap - in fact it's very beautiful the way it is, but as I would have much preferred concept art and info on the making of the film to only film stills, I don't know if it was really worth the extra money. But still, the book and the box both look gorgeous.

According to the pics of this set, it looks like the book and DVD are housed in a case that opens like a book.

Does the case then sit within an outer box type slip cover?.... Like the region 1 box sets?

No, it's exactly like Snow White's R2 collector's box (only about 1cm wider and higher). See the pictures ichabod posted.

Now that The Jungle Book has been called a Platinum Edition does anyone else think that BVHE UK will rerelease the earlier Platinum Editions as Platinum Editions here?

Do you see pigs flying past your window?

Also what makes you think BVHE will release any more platinum editions? Knowing them this will be the first and last release we see with platinum written on it.

I see a pig-shaped firework if that counts

I think it would be just like BVHE UK to release Snow White exactly the same but Platinum Edition since it's 7 years passed, just so people think it's new

Not really. I'm finding myself increasingly frustrated with their general incompetence and foul-ups, which seem to be worse now than ever before.

A lot of the Ratatouille extras are on the BBFC, and they don't seem too impressive:
