Disney films and television on YouTube (formerly 80s Disney)

Post by disneyfella »

While I would love to post every single movie, I've found a few clips from vintage Disney movies I thought I would share here and hope people will post their memories of old Disney movies....their wants on DVD.....or even their criticisms. All of these are YouTube clips:

1. 'Student Exchange' (1987 Disney Sunday night movie with Maura Tierney and Heather Graham) - this film is about two nerds in high school who get makeovers and pretend to be foreign exchange students from France and become popular and no one knows that they are really their classmates:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6g81jq6tlW4

2. 'Double Switch' (1987 Disney Sunday night movie with Elisabeth Shue and George Newborn) - this film is about a rockstar and nerd in high school who switch places (i.e. 'Model Behavior', 'Prince and the Pauper', etc.):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5C_sMk28k5w

3. 'Young Again' (1986 Disney Sunday night movie with Keanu Reeves, Lindsay Wagner, Robert Urich) - this film is kind of like 'Big' in reverse. A man wishes to be young again and gets his wish:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5a8rCOIIWps

4. 'Earth*Star Voyager' (1988 Disney Sunday night movie) - this miniseries was about a group of kids set off on an exploratory mission for the future survival of Earth:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3zUakui32M

5. 'Rock 'N Roll Mom' (1988 Disney Sunday night movie with Dyan Cannon) - this film is about a suburban mother whose singing is discovered and has the chance to follow her dreams only if she brings her kids along:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crnrUKNY67Y

6. 'Help Wanted: Kids' (1986 Disney Sunday night movie starring Chad Allen) - this film is about a working couple who pretend to have kids by renting them in order to impress their boss:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfUrKLO2Lu8

7. 'The B.R.A.T. Parol' (1986 Disney Sunday night movie starring Brian Keith and Sean Astin) - this film is about an unofficial club of kids living on a military base that expose a plot to steal military supplies:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQSyBM9awl8

8. 'Mr. Boogedy' (1986 Disney Sunday night movie starring Kristy Swanson, Richard Masur, and David Faustino) - this film is about a family that moves into a haunted house:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KStrb7dNAhk

9. 'The Ghosts of Buxley Hall' (1980 Disney Sunday night movie) - this film is about a military academy whose founding fathers' ghosts come back to get rid of the newly allowed girls at the academy:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUnrlgWr4Gs

10. 'Tiger Town' (1984 Disney Channel movie) - this film is about a boy's belief in a baseball team helping them to win the pennant:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uRjcwbMINA

11. 'I-Man' (1986 Disney Sunday night movie starring Scott Bakula and Joey Cramer) - this film is about a man esposed to a chemical that makes him invincible:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPKiRV1t ... re=related

12. 'Fluppy Dogs' (1986 Disney Sunday night movie) - this film was about 5 dogs who travel between worlds looking for their home:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USeofD6x ... re=related

13. 'Polly' (1989 Disney Sunday night movie starring Kiesha Knight Pulliam and Phylicia Rashad) - this film was a musical remake of the original classic:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2Q4gVUZxn4

14. 'Return of the Shaggy Dog' (1987 Disney Sunday night movie) - this film takes place sometime between the original Shaggy Dog and Shaggy D.A.:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69-bjgOoY6Q

15. 'Splash, Too' (1987 Disney Sunday night movie starring Amy Yasbeck) - this film is a sequel to the Touchstone film:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9wfP9fae_w

Well, I guess that is enough for now. As I find more I'll try and come back to add on. Feel free to post more if you guys can find any. Does anyone else even remember these movies? With all the talk lately of Disney NOT using their own content for their Disney Channel, I thought of all those Disney movies I grew up on and how some of these may never get aired again because we need more programming time for 'Cory in the House'. :?

What would you like to see on a 'Vault Disney Channel'.....do you have a favorite Disney show/movie/program that is NOT available on DVD and would be perfect for viewing?

I'll have to check out "Wild Blue Yonder" and "In the Nick of Time"...I've never even heard of them before :o

As for "A Mom for Christmas" I completely agree! That should so be on DVD. Suprisingly, though, ABC family is showing it!!!!!!! I don't even know the last time that movie was broadcast........

It will air this year on November 26th on ABC family at 7PM eastern time......set your TiVo :)

Thank you sooooo much for posting that, disneyfella!!! (People sure are posting good videos on UD today!) I've been curious about "Fluppy Dogs" for sooo long! I'd love to watch the whole movie! I was only a baby when this aired (but Wikipedia says that it aired on "The Magical World of Disney" back in 1996-1997, but I missed it then (I didn't know that it was on...).

I would absolutely LOVE a Vault Disney Channel!!!!!
As far as putting movies and shows on DVD, I think that all of the TV movies should be on DVD. "Stuck in the Suburbs" is one of my top 4 favorite DCOMS, and it has a soundtrack CD, but it's not on DVD yet- it should be!!! I think that "My Date With the President's Daughter" should be on DVD (I know that Disney Channel plays it sometimes, but I'd definitely buy it- that's a great movie!).

Disney's second best (only to Bride of Boogedy) TV movie. All of both movies used to be on youtube, but they took them off. Annoying, since it's not like Disney was loosing money by someone uploading a film that was originally viewed for free and can't be bought.

While this isn't an 80s film per say, I thought instead of starting a new topic I'd just post it on here. Someone has posted the entire film "Child of Glass" from 1978. This film has been a hard to find one that was rumored for a DVD release a few years ago......which never came to fruition. It rarely, if ever, is replayed on TV. Anyway....enjoy:

=========================================

I remember someone posting a few years ago that 'Child of Glass' and the 'Boogedy' films were up for release on DVD......whatever happened? They would be so perfect :)

While this film is on DVD......the trailer is not! That's why I thought it might be appropriate to include here. This is actually a hard to find trailer and so should have been included on the high quality DVD release of 'Flight of the Navigator':

The early 90s Disney Channel original movie 'Mother Goose's Rock 'N Rhyme' has been posted in full on YouTube....enjoy:

Also, here is a scene that was edited out of the home video version (which is what was posted). Strangely, Katey Segal is pictured in the credits while her scene was usually edited out for time. I believe that only in the initial television airing was this scene ever shown....

Here is clip from a rare Walt Disney Presents movie called, 'Whiz Kids and the Carnival Caper' starring Kim Richards from Escape to Witch Mountain fame.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBaProuQlII

Here is a clip from 'Disneyland's 25th Anniversary Special' that aired in 1980 (you gotta love Michael):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P46-3ilgo64

Here is a clip from the 1977 Disney made for TV movie 'The Ghost of Cypress Swamp':

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Flg9c_Cnz7M

This next one should totally be on DVD. Here is a clip from 'DisneyWorld's 15th Birthday Celebration Special':

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RGK710v9v0

Oh check out the opening to the 1985 Disney special 'Disneyland's 30th Anniversary Celebration':

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VljcTW-d ... re=related

And Marie Osmond and David Hasslehoff singing from the same 80s Disney television special:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgQMo09EcLo

This is for all the Mousketeer fans:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XX0XKKSAsW4

This is the Disney Special that celebrated the opening of 'Disney's MGM Studios' in 1989:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dJJJaW-1Ug

Why can't they reair these, release them on DVD, or simply make the same quality stuff on the Disney Channel today.....when was the last time they ever had a celebration like this on TV for the whole world to share?

I hope you enjoy these :)

I have several TV movies which is on DVD-R originally recorded off VHS on the Disney Channel years ago when "Vault Disney" usually ran classic Disney films and shows for years. "The Scarcrow of Romney Marsh" was first aired in 3-parts back in February of 1964. part 1 was aired on WWOC while "The Ed Sullivan Show" was still on where Ed was introduced to the Beatles for the first time on network TV. I guess CBS' #1 Sunday night show took NBC's Disney show to the punch. Ed was at 7 PM on CBS and Disney was on at 7:30 PM. Both were Sunday night TV wars for both of these networks.

Sorry for this off-topic stuff, I have "The Ghost of Buxley Hall" but it does have episode intro and closings used for the syndicated version of WWOD. I have this off of Disney Channel as part of "Vault Disney". "Rock & Roll Mom" that's the one I still have taped off Disney Channel and finally "Child of Glass" taped off of Disney Channel during "Vault Disney".

I have lots of Disney TV movies on DVD-R formerly on VHS.

As for Disney losing money off of these videos on YouTube... A thought just jumped into my head. Anyone please, chime in if this strikes a chord:

Perhaps their thinking is, if people can watch these things on YouTube whenever they want to, they won't be interested enough to buy them when Disney finally (yeah, right- they never would anyway, most of them aren't hip enough for today's buyers) releases them.

Plus, there's the idea that a lot of DVD buyers don't have time to watch a lot of movies (which is true, except that now you can watch movies on your video game players and cellphones, so...), so their kids will grow out of them and the adults only buy or rent movies just to check them out and there's not much word of mouth factor left to sell many future copies.

I don't know.

"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Live at the Radio City Music Hall".
This aired on television in 1981, and I think had a very limited VHS and beta release.......I so remember watching this as a kid and couldn't believe anyone had posted this stuff......

I think I saw this on The Disney Channel in the early 90's, either 91 or 92. I could be getting this and Snow White on ice mixed up though.

Was Snow White ever on ice in the 90's?
