Is it just me or this movie is like The Pacifier?

The Pacifier: A Navy Seal is assigned to protect a family while searching for a MacGuffin named "Ghost".

The Game Plan: A football player finds out he has a daughter and has to take care of her.

Yeah...they're exactly the same!

In Ariel'sprince's defense, both The Pacifier and The Game Plan are centered around a muscular macho male figure feeling out his element while caring for a child. However, the two films are very different, and therefore, not liking one film or thinking the general concept is unoriginal is no reason to dismiss the other film. As I said earlier, I loved The Game Plan for its heart (and I don't know squat about football), but I was unimpressed with The Pacifier which felt more like a tv movie. Though, if it hadn't been brought up by someone else, I wouldn't have seen the need to compare the two movies.

It had football and cool gadgets for the guys and ballet and fashion for the girls.

I appreciate your feedback, and I'm happy to hear of another person who liked the movie, but this statement made me chuckle. It's such a 1950's-ish view of gender roles. I'm a guy with no interest in football, but I thought the movie looked interesting because of the father/child relationship. Honestly, I'd be more interested in fashion than football, and in 2007 I don't feel odd about saying that. Thanks again for the positive report though.

Agreed,i also think that we're back to 1950 with all of this "that's for girls and that for guys",especially with "TinkerBell is for girls and Buzz Lightyear is for boys".

I saw this movie last Monday with my sister and her three kids (ages 8,6 and 3) and we all loved it. My sister was so sure that Aunt Karen was played by Lori Loughlin. (She wasn't. It was another actress).

I give it a solid A and will definitely purchase the DVD when it comes out.

I saw this movie a few weeks after it come out to theaters. and i thought it was so-so but did remind me of somewhat of Pacifer. I properly get it on dvd when it comes out. It's cute but not one of my favorites.
