Gargoyles Season 2, Volume 2?

Post by vojna »

Hey people!

Is there any sign of Gargoyles Season 2, Volume 2 coming to DVD soon? I like this show and purchased the Season 1 ans Season 2, Volume 1. So hope Disney is going to release the missing episodes of this TV show.

If anybody of you know more about this topic... THX for your reply :)

Due to poor sales of Season 2 Volume 1, Disney has no immediate plans for a Volume 2. According to Gargoyles' creator Greg Weisman, the best thing a fan can do is if they haven't bought either season by now, buy them both and also buy the Gargoyles comic books. Slave Labor Graphics prints what is officially Season 3 of the series. The Goliath Chronicles are not canon and should be disregarded. Gargoyles only recently started printing and is now on book #6. There is also a spin-off called Bad Guys, focusing on a redemption squad of past villains of the series. If Bad Guys does well, then Disney will green light other spin offs such as Timedancer (Focus on Brooklyn), Pendragon (focus on King Arthur and Griff), and Dark Ages (focus on Castle Wyvern when Hudson was still clan leader and Demona and Goliath were teenagers). It is vitally important to support the series by buying the DVDs and comics, if you want to see the final episodes on DVD and a continuation of the series in comic book form.

I wonder if the comics can only be purchased via the website? If so that's rather stupid because not everyone (including me) is able to purchase items off of the internet  So now it's a lot harder to support the series and get the last dvd set. However Siren I do want to know why is the Goliath Chronicles not considered cannon? I don't really remember anything from Goliath Chronicles which might be a good thing? :P

You can buy them at regular comic shops. Just ask your local comic shop if they sell the Gargoyles comics by Slave Labor Graphics. Watch out for the old Gargoyles comics by Marvel. Some of them were pretty good (like the one about Elisa's past), but they aren't canon either.
And I have seen my local Best Buys carry the DVD sets as well.
You can support the series without buying it online.

The reason The Goliath Chronicles and the Marvel series of comics are not canon is because the original creator had nothing to do with them. They were not his vision. Disney took what he had written down for season 3 and sliced and diced it. So sometimes when you read the Slave Labor comics, you may be reminded of the Chronicles, that is because Disney took his ideas and changed them around to suit their own mold for the series. In the same way that Joss Whedon's Buffy:The Vampire Slayer movie was different than the tv series. Paramount took his vision and made it their own. Disney did the same to Greg Weisman.
